'Ray Donovan' Season 7 Episode 2: Is Mickey really dead or will he come back to haunt his children?

Mickey's death may take his physical self away from the 'Ray Donovan' universe, but it is not going to take his memories away. More importantly, it is not going to take Voight away from our TV screens

Is Mickey (Jon Voight) really dead? We saw the bus burning in the previously aired Season 7 Episode 1 of 'Ray Donovan' and in the trailer for the upcoming Episode 2 of the season, we will see charred bodies of the passengers, and so it is definitive right?

We sure hope so, if only for the sake of Ray's (Live Schreiber) character development. Dead or not, it is clear that Mickey is not going to go away from the lives of his sons anytime soon.

We got a taste of that in the previous episode when Terry (Eddie Marsan) saw visions of his father when he was high on alternative medicine for Parkinson's. Surprisingly, he saw Mickey before the hallucination as well, and it seems to be a precursor to how Mickey's ghost and memories will haunt him for days to come.

Ray has been having visions of his father as early as Season 1, but they have all been horrible ones. Hopefully, after his death, they will be different, especially since he is trying to be a better and forgive his father for his past sins, thanks to his sessions with Dr. Arthur Amiot (Alan Alda).

He did try to forgive Mickey in person in the Season 7 premiere episode, but he ended up saying "F**k you" and leaving prison after Mickey reminds Ray how he locked him up for 20 years for a crime he did not commit.

If anything, he deserves an apology and not forgiveness, he claims. Seeing as the last conversation Ray had with his father ended on very bad terms, it is only easy to assume that he would be haunted by the thoughts of his father for episodes to come.

Mickey's death may take his physical self away from the 'Ray Donovan' universe, but it is not going to take his memories away. More importantly, it is not going to take Voight away from our TV screens.

Don't forget to watch Season 7 Episode 2 of 'Ray Donovan' on Sunday, November 24, on Showtime.
