'DeMarcus Family Rules': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Rascal Flatts bassist's reality series on Netflix

Jay DeMarcus, the bassist for country music group Rascal Flatts is coming to Netflix for his first-ever exclusive reality series, 'DeMarcus Family Rules'. DeMarcus and his Rascal Flatts bandmates were slated to hit the road for a farewell tour this year but it was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, it looks like DeMarcus wants to include other forms of entertainment for fans this year. Find out all you need to know about the upcoming series below.

Release date

The first season of 'DeMarcus Family Rules' will premiere on Netflix on August 19.

Plot

As explained in the synopsis on Netflix, "Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus and ex-beauty queen Allison DeMarcus write their own rules for juggling family and fun in this reality show." This reality series revolves around the Rascal Flatts bassist and his beauty queen wife of 16 years, Allison Alderson, following the ups and downs of their marriage as they schedule their lives around their kids and careers. The show will also see DeMarcus bringing his comedic chops, spending quality time with his kids, Dylan Jay and Madeline Leigh DeMarcus, and strengthening his relationship with his wife.

Teaser announcement

DeMarcus first shared the news on social media in July with a clip of his adorable family. "Hey, everybody, it’s Jay here, with my wife Allison and our two kids, Madeline and Dylan. And we have a bit of a big announcement to make," he said. "We’re coming to Netflix!"

Trailer

The trailer was released by Netflix on August 5. The trailer shows scenes such as the family preparing and heading out for a camping trip, in-studio clips, and several humorous moments including Jay DeMarcus calling him and his wife the ultimate odd-couple before entering into the kitchen dressed in attire that looks like it came out of a 1950s sci-fi film to prepare a turkey dinner. As far as his appearances on TV and film goes, 'DeMarcus Family Rules' is the first the Rascal Flatts bassist will star in for a major role. In his first reality show appearance 'Chrisley Knows Best', DeMarcus appeared as a special guest on the episode 'No Men For Old Country'. Other appearances included roles in sitcoms, drama series and more. His first TV appearance was on 'Yes, Dear' in 2006 as a special guest on one episode. So, fans can look forward to a more intimate and extensive look at DeMarcus on his own reality show.
