Previously indifferent Baek Hyun-woo shows his caring nature during hunting in 'Queen of Tears'

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: 'Queen of Tears', the captivating Korean drama on Netflix that premiered on March 9, 2024, continues to unravel the tangled threads of Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-woo's marriage.

Despite initial coldness and potential ulterior motives for divorce from Hyun-woo, a flicker of hope emerges in Episode 2.

The narrative takes a sharp turn with the revelation of Hae-in's terminal illness, throwing Hyun-woo's sudden desire for divorce into question. Further, a subtle shift in his actions during their annual family hunting trip hints at a possible change of heart.

Previously known for his aversion to hunting, Hyun-woo displayed a newfound aggression. Could this transformation be a reaction to the presence of Hae-in's friend?

Shift in Baek Hyun-woo's Actions Hints at Rekindled Affection in 'Queen of Tears'

'Queen of Tears' Episode 2 throws a wrench into the narrative with the revelation of Hae-in's terminal illness. This diagnosis clashes with Hyun-woo's sudden desire for a divorce, leaving viewers to question his sincerity.

However, his actions during their annual family hunting trip hint at a potential shift.

Previously, Hyun-woo displayed indifference towards hunting and killing animals. However, this year, a strange aggression emerged. This change could be attributed to the presence of Hae-in's ex-boyfriend, Eun Sung, who subtly questioned Hyun-woo's commitment to his wife.

Perhaps fueled by a newfound possessiveness or a rekindled spark, Hyun-woo's hunting behavior changed. He actively participated in the event, which some may interpret as a desperate attempt to prove himself.

The episode culminates in a dramatic scene where Hae-in, due to her illness, loses focus while in the woods. A wild boar charges towards her, but just in time, Hyun-woo intervenes and saves her life.

This act of heroism could be interpreted in multiple ways. Was it a calculated move to gain favor or a genuine display of care for Hae-in?

Moreover, the cliffhanger ending leaves viewers yearning for answers. Will Hae-in recognize this potential change? Will their relationship move towards reconciliation or remain fraught with past hurts and hidden motives?

'Queen of Tears' promises to delve deeper into these questions in upcoming episodes. One thing is certain: the dynamics between Hae-in, Hyun-woo, and Eun Sung promise an intriguing web of love, jealousy, and hidden agendas.
