After entertaining fans throughout her singing career after debuting in 2010 as the member of now-disbanded JYP Entertainment girl group, Miss A, Bae Suzy is finally making a comeback as a singer in February 2022. On February 10, it was reported that Bae Suzy was going release her digital single ‘Satellite’ that will drop later this month.

Bae Suzy (also known as just Suzy) last released a music video for her 2018 single, ‘Midnight’. This was followed by the news of her leaving JYP Entertainment, which shocked many fans. Much to the surprise of her fans, Suzy soon signed with the agency, Management Soop and kickstarted her acting career. Leaving her solo music career behind, Suzy made a name for herself as one of the biggest actresses in South Korea after starring in hit K-dramas like ‘Uncontrollably Fond’, ‘While You Were Sleeping’, Vagabond’ and the 2020 Netflix hit show, ‘Start Up’.

Actress Bae Suzy embraces idol roots

Despite back-to-back acting gigs, Bae Suzy will make her singing comeback as she reclaims her idol past as a singer-songwriter. According to Suzy’s agency, her upcoming digital single ‘Satellite’ has a completely different vibe compared to Suzy’s older songs.

It is reported that Suzy herself took part in writing the lyrics for the upcoming single. Through the song, Suzy aims to express her longing for something that she cannot reach as well as addressing the unchanging feelings that still linger in her heart.

Fans excited about ‘Satellite’ release

Bae Suzy has suddenly drawn a lot of attention for her singing comeback as she released a teaser image along with the news of the release. The single will drop on February 17 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET). In the teaser, Suzy is seen posing with her left profile in front of a blue background. The image shows Suzy’s melancholic expression as she stares into the distance with her empty eyes, making fans curious about the melancholic mood of this song.

Other than being known as the former member of JYP Entertainment’s second-gen girl group, Miss A, Suzy made her debut as a soloist in 2017 and released her first mini-album, ‘Yes? No?’. She then followed that with her second EP, ‘Faces of Love’ that was released in March 2018 before she took a hiatus from her activities as a singer. It has been four long years and now she will be one of the few actor-idols with her ‘Satellite’ comeback.
