LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Walking Dead' actor Pruitt Taylor Vince has been introduced as Jonathan Kent, also known as Pa Kent, in DC Studios' 'Superman', says a report by TheWrap.

He joins a lineage that includes actors like Kevin Costner, who played the character in 2013's 'Man of Steel', and Glenn Ford, who portrayed Jonathan Kent in Richard Donner's 1978 'Superman'.

In 'Superman', Jonathan Kent is Kal-El's Earth father, who also gave him the name Clark Kent.

Taylor Vince's casting in the superhero franchise has sparked mixed reactions among fans.

Some fans have harshly criticized his casting, labeling it as the "biggest downgrade." With 'Big Meh', another fan expressed disappointment while another laughed and pointed out, "When did superman dad go to prison, thats what he'll look like , not the all american superman dad! bad casting."

Calling out director James Gunn, an X used tweeted, "I love you but you seriously couldn't cast Brendan Fraser? C'mon!" Knowing that it would be quite a challenging task for Taylor Vince to win over the audience, someone added, "He’s got big shoes to live up with people like Eddie Jones, Kevin Costner, John Schneider and Glenn Ford."

However, fans of the actor have come out in his support and have been giving strong arguments in favor of his casting.

An X user said, "Please don’t hate the guy for no reason because Harrison Ford didn’t get the role." "Interesting casting. Let's give it a chance guys before saying downgrade or even suggesting anything else," added another.

He is joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent.
