Season 3 of 'Property Brothers: Forever Home' is back with Part 2 featuring fresh episodes wherein Jonathan and Andrew (Drew) Scott help first-time homebuyers turn their house into lasting family homes. The first episode featured Toronto-based couple Chris and Charlotte who had just moved into their dream neighborhood with a lot of beautiful parks, a school district, and a lot of greenery around and they thought it was the right place for their 2-year-old daughter Freya to grow up. The house was replete with outdated finishes with room for a lot of improvement; however, they still went ahead to purchase it because it fit right into their budget. They were first-time homebuyers and enlisted the help of Jonathan and Drew to help set up the place.

It was a 2300 sqft three-story home and there were some very basic repairs done around the house recently but all of the work was haphazard and the home was basically not safe for the couple to move in. After a little more inspection, the Scott brothers found out that the third floor was in decent shape and decided to focus the renovation plans around redoing the main floor bedroom and the kitchen, living, and dining room on the second floor. The couple had a budget of $185,000 for the entire reno. Shortly after the renovation began, Chris and Charlotte were informed that their popcorn wall on the main floor had level 3 asbestos, the worst kind to exist. A couple of days later, a storm caused a huge tree to fall on the house completely demolishing the top floor. Charlotte and Chris were quite shaken by this incident, and the former was reduced to tears thinking about what could've happened to Freya if she was still sleeping in the room. Jonathan consoled her as she thanked them profusely for deciding to help them renovate the house.

This tragedy had also thrown off the renovation process. Initially, Drew and Jonathan had estimated that the renovation would be done in two months; however, it didn't look possible now. The house needed to be assessed by an engineer, the insurance company had to be involved and a completely new renovation plan needed to be created. However, the brothers were not going to let anything come in the way and they were determined to push through with this life-saving renovation. Charlotte and Chris had to wait six months to move into their new home; however, when they did finally walk in, it was all worth it. Not only did they get all boxes ticked from their wishlist, but Jonathan and Drew also did something special for them. Six months ago, they were standing outside their house, looking at the damage the fallen tree had caused and that same space was filled with beautiful furniture and other decors, to brighten it up and erase the memories of the tragedy.

'Property Brothers: Forever Home' airs Wednesdays at 9 pm ET on HGTV.
