'Project Runway': Sergio Guadarrama continues to disregard Christian Siriano's fashion advice

'Project Runway' season 18 is turning out to be high on goss and special thanks to Sergio Guadarrama and his arrogance.

If there's one designer who has been making headlines and that too for all the wrong reasons, it has to be Sergio Guadarrama.

To give it context, Christian Siriano, season 4 winner, and current mentor has been generous with his little tips and tricks to the designers while they work on their pieces in the workroom. The designers are receptive and ready to tweak the designs based on Christian's feedback,  but it was Sergio who came up with a completely different reaction in his confessional.

The Austin-based designer's works have been featured in globally leading magazines - Vogue, Vogue Italia, People Magazine, Forbes, and New York Magazine - and is the one who was responsible for Billy Porter's show-stopping red carpet gown he wore to Tony Awards 2019. Clearly, this one's accomplished, sure, but what good is talent when you're not humble about it.

Christian had suggested Sergio could play with the length of his outfit, to which he responded: ''I don't know if he understands how technically advanced I am as a designer," he had said. The upcoming episode is no different. In the preview video, we see him making a similar comment when Christian comments on how his ''gown" isn't really street-style, the theme given to them at the start of the day.

"I don’t do young people’s clothes. Young people can’t afford expensive things, so why design for them? I am an evening-wear designer for that 45-60-year-old woman. They’re my market and I’m not changing that," Sergio says. Meanwhile, it's not just Christian who thinks he could do better with his creation. Fellow contestant Delvin McCray said what woman would wear a gown with a trail on the streets?

Even though Sergio seemed keen on employing Christian's advice, will he go the whole hog? Time will tell. Meanwhile, ER was called on Dayoung Kim after she couldn't move her body on the day of the workroom challenge. Her supportive penthouse mates wished her luck, asking her not to stress. Will she opt out of the show due to her sudden ill health?
