'Project Runway': Christian Siriano could decide to bring back Veronica Sheaffer and it wouldn't be surprising at all

Ruthless eliminations are underway at the 'Project Runway' 18 and it's been truly heartbreaking.

Veronica Sheaffer, the second contestant to be shown the door, opened up about her elimination in a freewheeling chat with mentor Christian Siriano.

Veronica is a talented designer and her work is outlined by flowy, feminine, soft silhouettes. However, she wasn't able to hold up to scrutiny in the cat-print challenge.

From the start, Veronica had been second-guessing all her choices, and it was only after Christian gave her a little heads up that she was able to pick up the pace. Despite that, her unfinished leather bolero with the unlined underside and silk chiffon bloomers fell flat. She faced heavy criticism from the judges as well as viewers. But that didn't break her spirit.

Sipping on a cocktail and wearing a fancy flowy top that she stitched herself, Veronica said how she should have tried to pull an animal print on the silhouette she was flaunting in the video below.

She also spoke of how the judges' comments on her designs were rough and that even though it was her "losing look" it gave her more confidence to experiment with something new going forward. "It's okay to dig your heels in once in a while," she said. Christian agreed and said it was a good thing to takeaway. Also, in the short after-show segment, the mentor asked for her two cents on the bloomers/shorts look.

"Yeah, I knew that I was gonna get a diaper comment. I mean I knew I was. I made a fit adjustment at the end, which then caused the back to not lay the way I had wanted. And then it was too late for me to fix it. I liked the front, I didn't like the back. And, I do plan to remake them for myself. I am going to wear these shorts," she said.

Christian agreed that her bloomers had elements of Giambattista Valli and Chloe, but also pointed out that it's difficult to create balloon shorts, a well-adjusted one, in a day's time. He also said Veronica's animal prints were romantic and soft and possibly the only kind he liked but was quick to highlight that she didn't use them fully.

He said everyone on the show had work very hard and the group is missing a light, soft, romantic designer.

Is he hinting at bringing her back using the 'Siriano Save'?

Christian has been very vocal about his liking for Veronica's work and it wouldn't be surprising if he decided to bring her back in the finale.

Meanwhile, don't forget to catch new episodes of 'Project Runway' season 18 on Bravo TV every Thursday night.
