Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas 'Sangeet' series on Amazon promises the charm of big fat Indian weddings, music, dance, and much more

The show is inspired by Nick and Priyanka, and if that is the golden standard, we are really going to expect some huge parties and perfectly choreographed dance numbers from some of the biggest and fattest Indian weddings in the series.

It's been a year since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got hitched, but their honeymoon phase is far from over, as is evident from the social media declarations of love. In fact, their marriage is so strong that the celebrity power couple is planning to make their partnership professional as well. It has been confirmed that the duo is working together on an unscripted series for Amazon Prime, which is potentially inspired by their own high-profile Sangeet.

While the Hindi word Sangeet literally translates to music, in the context of an Indian wedding, it refers to a night of music and dance. It celebrates the union of the couple and of the families of the couple, and in the case of Priyanka and Nick, this celebratory night seemed like nothing short of an award show. As Priyanka says in the Instagram post with which she announced the show, it will be a celebration of "celebrates the love and magic that comes from friends and family that join together through music and dance the night before a wedding."

We are certainly looking forward to the Amazon series because if their multiple weddings and days of celebration and dance are anything to go by, the yet-to-be-titled series will be a larger-than-life affair. Moreover, there are some expectations we have from the series:

Big Fat Indian Weddings

The show is inspired by Nick and Priyanka, and if that is the golden standard, we are really going to expect some huge parties and perfectly choreographed dance numbers from some of the biggest fattest Indian weddings in the series.

Best musical productions

We are yet to see a wedding show in the US that shows the elaborate musical dance shows that Indian families put on to celebrate the union of two people. They do not take their dance performances lightly and we will definitely get to see a glimpse of that when the show airs.

Amazing love stories

Through these big musical productions what the bridal party and the grooms' family try to do is celebrate the love story of the bride and the groom. We are definitely keeping some tissue papers handy because I am ready to be touched by the most romantic love stories, like that of Nick and Priyanka, for example.

Insight into Indian traditions and culture

The show, which will be will executive produced by Priyanka via her Purple Pebble Productions, by and Nick under his Image 32 banner, will be the perfect example of cultures blending together. If you have never been to an Indian wedding, you will finally get to see what all the raving is about. Large Indian families coming together and celebrating in abandon while also paying heed to the culture is a sight we are looking forward to seeing.

Inter-racial marriages

The plot twist is that the show will not just be focusing on Indian families, much like Nick and Priyanka, some of the couples featured in the series will be inter-racial and we are certainly looking forward to seeing how different families with their own customs and traditions get accustomed to the Indian ways of song and dance.
