'Power' Season 6 Episode 8: Will Tariq get off the streets before Ghost sets off on a political journey with Ramona by his side?

Despite being outsmarted and rescued, and even being shown the consequences of his thoughtless actions, Tariq seems to be under some delusion that he is always right

Season six of 'Power' has proven one point over and over again — Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) is a pain in the ass for everyone, especially those closest to him who love him.

While uncle Tommy (Joseph Sikora) has decided that he is no longer carrying the burden of caring for Tariq, his dad Ghost (Omari Hardwick), unfortunately, cannot make that decision.

The king of the streets has been dismissed and disrespected by his son a few too many times, but he is still trying to rear him.

In the trailer for the upcoming season six episode eight, we see Ghost asking Tariq, yet again, to get off the streets, to which Tariq replies, "Just like you did, huh?"

This conversation is proof enough that Ghost thinks his son is going to end up doing good, but as viewers, we have come to expect him to make the stupidest mistakes while assuming he is the smartest person in any given room.

Despite being outsmarted and rescued, and even being shown the consequences of his thoughtless actions, he seems to be under some delusion that he is always right.

Ghost, however, is not one to stop trying, and it looks like he has some help.

While Tasha (Naturi Naughton) had warned Ghost in not so many words that no good is to be expected of their son, he finds an ally in Ramona (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) who is seen telling Tariq in the trailer for the upcoming 'Deal with the Devil', "Your father is capable of anything he sets his mind to... Just like you."

This particular quote directs us to two questions — what has Ghost set his mind to do, and why is Ramona saying this to Tariq?

Our guess in response to the first question is politics. Ghost is trying to clean up his act, and he wants to become an upstanding citizen, but he is not one to completely leave the streets behind like Tariq taunted him.

Having worked with Tate (Larenz Tate), he is already seen as a politician of sorts, and our guess is that he will use this as leverage to launch his own political campaign.

Moreover, Tate's biggest asset is Ramona and she seems to have a little crush on Ghost, and she probably is the one who sold the idea to him in the first place.

This brings us to the next point. Ramona many be speaking to Tariq because she wants him off the streets and be part of Ghost's campaign.

Moreover, she is trying to get with Ghost, and this may be a prelude to her dreams of becoming a step-mom to Tariq. She inspires him to do better, the campaign goes well, and Ghost is in office, she is by his side, she seduces him and bam! you have a new power couple before 'Power' bids adieu.

Don't forget to watch season six episode eight of 'Power' which airs on Sunday, October 13, to find out if Ghost has a political future.
