Fans have a mighty long wait till the next episode of 'Power Book II: Ghost', as it will only air on December 6. Nevertheless, there's much to mull over, as the mid-season finale left us with a worrying cliffhanger on Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) and Tasha's (Naturie Naughton) fate. The reason for the hiatus: The show needed to finish production due to the global health crisis that has left the world crippled, at the moment.

So far, it has been a grueling season. The show, which is a spinoff of the original 'Power' series, picked up right after the finale and followed Tariq's adventures and misadventures as he struggles to deal with college life while trying to break his mother Tasha out of jail. Tasha had taken the blame of killing Ghost upon herself when Tariq was the one who had killed him. Tariq has been dabbling in different and illegal drug trades in order to pay for her release.

Tariq finds himself becoming the very man he once despised, his own father as his mother tells him. And, Tariq becomes a traitor to himself, as he and his mother struggle to protect each other at any cost. The two are fiercely loyal to each other and are determined to let one not take the fall for each other. So far, Tariq had been meticulous and played it smoothly. But it seems as if he is now in trouble. Saxe's niece Riley drugged him, leading an inebriated Tariq to go to his father's grave and make a rather worrying confession. Saxe (Shane Johnson) filmed this on camera and has now recruited Tariq's attorney Davis (Method Man)on his side. The two plan to get Tariq out of jail. Yet, here's the thing. Is Davis just playing Saxe and is still on Tariq's side? As we know till now, Davis has been working hard to prove that Saxe's methods are questionable and that he doesn't hesitate to plunge his hands into filth when needed. So what's the story here? Who is playing whom? Tariq is usually ten steps ahead of his enemies and he might just find a way out of this, and get them both into trouble.

'Power Book II: Ghost' will return on December 6, on StarZ.
