'Pose' season 2 pegged to feature the most epic love story of all time between Lil Papi and Angel

A storyline mapping the love story of Lil Papi and Angel would be ground-breaking for so many reasons, but most importantly they look good together and would make an adorable couple.

Guess who back in the house – Evangelista house? Why, Lil Papi (Angel Bismark Curiel), of course.  Season 2 of ‘Pose’ will see  Lil Papi back to where he truly belongs – with his family.

After a brief spat with mamma Blanca (MJ Rodriguez), Lil Papi had joined their rival House of Ferocity for a while, but by the finale, he realized he has lost his way. Meanwhile, Angel (Indya Moore), who was hung up on her nth “Prince Charming” Stan (Evan Peters) - for way too long, if you ask me – has given him the boot.

She is now trying her best to act like a mother preparing for when Blanca is no more. She is the only one in the know about Blanca being HIV positive, and the purpose of following her footsteps lays heavily on her, making her reconsider her life as a prostitute. Papi and Angel are both people who found a home because of Blanca, people who found a home at the House of Evangelista.

And, according to the trailers for season 2 of ‘Pose,’ they are both going to find the love of their lives in that very home. In the promo video, we see that Lil Papi and Angel have gotten way closer than they used to be – after all we are jumping two years ahead – with the former even doing an amateur photo shoot for the beautiful Angel.

In the very next scene, we see him telling her that “this is your dream.” In all possibility, he is talking about her dream of becoming a star and he is helping her achieve that. However, in the scene that follows we see Angel with her mascara running down, looking devastated as she whimpers against a wall and Lil Papi throwing something before storming away.

We know not if the anger is directed towards Angel who seems to be holding a trophy, or at someone else who made the –fingers crossed- love of his life upset. However, we are definitely eager to find out.

In a Pose Season 2 "Back to Life" trailer which was released earlier this month, we see that the House of Evangelista is being forced to reevaluate their goals on the heels of the ballroom community finding its footing in mainstream culture. Angel reveals that she is still looking for jobs, but to no avail and that Papi is grateful for going from nothing to have a roof over his head. “It makes you see the world in a different light,” he tells the cameras, in the trailer shot mockumentary-style.

What caught our attention is that they are giving their interviews together, but make no physical contact, which is somewhat conspicuous, almost as if the showrunners are trying to throw us off with their palpable chemistry contrasting the lack of any physical familiarity. They haven’t succeeded in fooling us though, because most fans are excited to see these two get together.

“I am SO HERE for Lil Papi and Angel to be an item! ❤ June 11th cannot come fast enough! Lol,” writes @PoiseRoseMakeup, while @NePtunesNeFew opines, “I wanna see Angel and Lil Papi together for some reason.”

A storyline mapping the love story of Lil Papi and Angel would be ground-breaking for so many reasons, but most importantly they look good together and would make an adorable couple. We cannot wait till June 11 when ‘Pose’ season 2 premieres, to watch this dream come to fruition.
