'The View' host Ana Navarro claims story about Ron DeSantis 'wearing heels' brings her joy, Internet calls her 'disgusting'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Thursday, November 2, ‘The View’ host Ana Navarro had an entire part of the 'Hot Topics' segment focussed on Florida Governor and GOP candidate Ron DeSantis, but more specifically, his height.

Of late, DeSantis’ height has been a topic of conversation beyond ‘The View’ as well. It was recently reported that 3 expert shoemakers have said DeSantis is probably wearing height boosters, according to Politico.

Ana Navarro, who has previously expressed her disdain towards DeSantis on the daytime talk show as well as social media, had admitted that this story about DeSantis “wearing heels” is bringing her joy.

Host and moderator Whoopi Goldberg comically introduced the topic to the rest of her panel, “From banning books to so-called "Don't Say Gay" laws, Florida Governor Yosemite DeSantis and Republican presidential candidate has drummed up his share of controversy, but he's just stepped into one he's having a hard time right now talking his way out of. Take a look.”

‘The View’ then played a clip from the 'PBD Podcast', where Ron DeSantis denied wearing heels and claimed he was 5’11.

Once the clip ended, Ana Navarro couldn’t hold back her laughter. ‘The View’ also displayed a meme of DeSantis, that mocked his height.

After the hosts had their share of laughs, along with the live audience, Navarro eventually weighed in, “Listen, okay, so call me petty, I know you will. That's never stopped me before.”

She continued,  “I am relishing and enjoying this story so much because honestly, he has been terrorizing my drag queen friends in Florida for well over a year because he has said men in heels are a threat to society.”

“It's too bad he has no drag queen friends because maybe they would have taught him how to walk in heels,” added Navarro.

Navarro also shared a clip of herself from this segment on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she wrote, “Call me Petty Betty. I don’t care. This story about @RonDeSantis wearing heels is bringing me joy. 🤣👠🤣.”

Internet reacts to ‘petty betty’ Ana Navarro

The internet was quick to respond after Ana Navarro shared a clip of herself from ‘The View’ as she ruthlessly mocked Ron DeSantis, and they were not impressed.

One user wrote, “I like Petty Betty for you now.  In past years you would not have focused on silly diversions like this.  I have lost some of the respect I had for you,” and another said, “It's complete nonsense discussing this.”

“You're a bigot,” slammed one user, and another wrote, “Ana is an odd Republican.”

Some even came to DeSantis’ defense as one wrote, “I can't stand him but who cares if he is!?!” and another said, “You’re disgusting, you all are. Especially you as you are a colossal embarrassment to my Latino & gay community. You don’t represent us. Furthermore, y’all should be ashamed of yourselves for being bullies. Don’t worry miss thang, God is watching & your time will come. Hate is evil.”
