Get set to witness the untold bond of yesteryear country music singers Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn in a new movie 'Patsy & Loretta' only on Lifetime. Headlined by two Broadway stars, Megan Hilty and Jessie Mueller, the movie has been filmed in Nashville, Tennessee.

While Patsy Cline ('Walkin' After Midnight', 'I Fall to Pieces' and 'Crazy') was born in Winchester, Virginia, Loretta Lynn ('You Ain't Woman Enough',  'Don't Come Home A' Drinkin', 'Coal Miner's Daughter') was born in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, in the same year, 1932. The two forged a close friendship in the wake of Cline's devastating car accident after which she took Lynn under her wing and encouraged her in the difficult early days of her rise to stardom.

Release date

The movie explores the bond that musicians Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn shared and premieres on Lifetime on October 19 at 8/7c.

Plot

The film's official synopsis reads: "When they first met, Patsy (Hilty) was already one of the biggest stars in country music while Loretta (Mueller) was just a coal miner’s daughter, starting off with little to her name but a $17 guitar. Instead of seeing Loretta as a competition, Patsy took Loretta under her wings to help her make it in Nashville. Soon, they became close friends, touring together, bonding over their husband troubles and commiserating on being females in the male-dominated music business."

"Then in 1963, the country music community was struck with a tragedy when at just age 30, Patsy died in a plane crash. Despite the devastating loss of her friend, Loretta continued on in the industry and is today, known as the First Lady of Country Music. To this day, Loretta remains grateful to Patsy for her mentorship and above all, friendship, as the country music trailblazer that paved the way for Loretta."
