‘Paper Girls’ on Amazon Prime Video: Fans hope ‘this makes more sense than comics’

The much-awaited trailer of ‘Paper Girls’ is out now and fans can’t stop themselves from raving about it

After giving fans a taste of time travel adventure with a dash of sci-fi in the teaser trailer which dropped a few days back, Amazon Prime Video has finally dropped the full trailer of the most talked about and one of the highly anticipated series ‘Paper Girls’ a few hours back now. The series has been adapted from the comic book series of the same name which had been written by Brian K Vaughan and Cliff Chiang.

The synopsis of the sci-fi drama series ‘Paper Girls’ reads, “It's the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.” Before fans wait for this series that releases in July 2022, they can also watch series like ‘Dark’, ‘Westworld’ and so on.

The fans were left in awe after watching the glimpses of the enthralling yet gritty storyline about the four paper delivery girls in era of 80’s who on a night of Halloween in 1988 accidentally got pulled into a time-travel adventure and ended up meeting the adult version of themselves and no matter what, they save the world.

The audience have constantly been sharing their love and excitement ever since they read the iconic comic book of the time-travel adventure series. As soon as the trailer got dropped, one user said, "I hope this makes more sense than the comics," while another said, "Are you ready for your next sci-fi time travel adventure obsession with 4 moody pre-teen girls as your leaders? The adaptation of the cult graphic novel #PaperGirls is coming soon!!!". "You know, I kinda like that the Paper Girls series is, from the looks of it, going all in on the Old Timers as evil. Also I’m virtually positive Adult KJ appeared which is a cool move. She should have appeared in the comic, even if she was pretty stable and had a kid. #PaperGirls," added a fan. "Finally getting a chance to breathe. You all aren't ready for the brilliance that is this show #PaperGirls’, a fan wrote. ‘I’ve read the 1st volume!! It’s great!! It’s The Paper Brigade meets Stanger Things!! I can’t wait for the show! I’m so excited! #PaperGirls," wrote another fan. "I'm gonna check it out. But this show is going to get a lot of unnecessary comparisons to Stranger Things smh," a fan noted. "Okay, yeah. I'm sold. This adaptation looks pretty damn faithful, especially with the Old-Timers and stuff. Hopefully the lack of any major footage is to keep secrecy, rather than indicating it'll be stretched across several seasons.
