Episode 2 of ‘Pandora’ Season 2 saw a lot happen. Following the discovery that Jax’s (Priscilla Quintana) supposedly-dead mother, Eve (Charisma Carpenter), was alive -- she ambushed Xander (Oliver Dench) when he was on board a freight ship trying to get hold of a consignment of canisters that contained what was antimatter. Figuring out that enough quantities of this substance could well act as a “planet killer”, the Admiral tasks Xander, Jax, and Ralen (Ben Radcliffe) with the task of finding both, the substance and Eve.

Ralen figures out a way to track Eve’s portal, which leads them to an unknown planet that was inhabited by the descendants of a group of colonizers from Earth sent to explore the deepest parts of space. But there was more to the planet that met the eye. They discovered that the inhabitants had a rather morbid tradition of sending citizens over the age of 25 through a portal to what they called a “better place”. More disturbingly so, they discover that the portal was a malfunctioning one and destroyed anything that entered it. And that the leaders of the planet were members of the original crew, rendered ageless by the radiation from the portal.

When Jax and Xander confront the council, Eve shows up. She tells Jax that she had been studying the portal, while also revealing that Tierney (Tina Casciani) was Jax’s step-sister, the daughter of Eve and Harlan Fried (Luke Fetherston). Following this, Jax’s Pandora clone arrives and tells Jax that she has already informed the Ancients that this universe is not worth saving and that the process of its destruction is underway. As Jax pleads with her to change her mind and convince the Ancients of otherwise, the Pandora attempts to push Jax into the portal. Xander intervenes and pushes the Pandora in instead. The episode ends with Eve being arrested and brought onboard where she ominously says that this was exactly where she wanted to be, and a Xatarian space-ship seemingly being attacked by the same antimatter.

So, what comes next? For one thing, it is curious why Eve wants to be on board Xander’s ship, locked up. Is she planning an attack? But surely she doesn’t want harm to befall Jax. But mainly, this episode raised too many questions that viewers don’t have answers to at this moment.

Episode 3, titled ‘Gates of Eden’, has to answer what the Xatarian space-ship was attacked, and more importantly, who attacked it. For starters, the huge consignment of the antimatter was destroyed on board the freight ship. So, where are people getting more of it?

Jax will, of course, try to contact the Ancients. She believes that humans deserve a second chance. But here again, we have no idea how she will pull that off. With her Pandora clone now dead, will the Ancients hold this murder against her, even if it was a matter of life and death for Jax?

Also, the reveal about Tierney changes things a lot. Already, Donovan Osborn (Noah Huntley), Jax’s uncle, is not trusted by the Admiral -- in fact, she put him in jail, suspecting he was involved with Eve. With Tierney also revealed to be part of the family, the Admiral just might consider trusting Jax to be too much of a risk. This is a move that can drive a wedge between her and Xander.

So, lots to expect from episode 3 of ‘Pandora’ Season 2. New episodes of ‘Pandora’ Season 2 arrive every Sunday at 8 pm ET on The CW.
