PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Apple TV+'s period comedy series 'Palm Royale' is soon inching towards the finale. The ten-episodic series has hooked the viewers to the adventures of Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) trying to fit into Palm Beach's high society.
She forces herself into Norma Dellacorte's (Carol Burnett) mansion while building a rich lifestyle for herself.
Her past came under scrutiny when Ann Holiday (Mindy Cohn), the new editor at Shiny Sheets magazine carried out a little investigation.
Though Ann's pursuit against Maxine concluded sooner than expected, they continue to cross paths in the series.
In Episode 8 of 'Palm Royale', Ann visits the Dellacorte mansion to cover an exclusive story on the family's history and best-kept secrets.
What is Norma Dellacorte planning in 'Palm Royale'?
Ann helps herself around the house, chatting with the family members, digging into the closets, and finding Norma's love-letters from her younger days. Meanwhile, Norma is looking for a chance to kill Maxine.
Norma spikes Maxine's cocktail made by Douglas Dellacorte and then waits for Maxine to drink it. Luckily for Norma, there comes an instance when Maxine is about to drink the cocktail.
However, a sudden distraction causes her to leave it on the bar counter and step out for a chore.
Is Ann Holiday in danger in 'Palm Royale'?
As Maxine leaves her drink, Ann asks for her permission if she could have it. Later in the episode, we see Ann sipping the cocktail while going through Norma's old stuff.
Though the episode doesn't reveal the consequences faced by Ann due to the drink, we can gather that her life is in danger.
If Ann dies in the Dellacorte mansion, it would bring chaos into Maxine's life.
In Episode 8, we see Maxine getting anxious with the whale's arrival on the shore near her residence, fearing it would hamper her preparations for Beach Ball.
Given her reaction to this event, one can only imagine how she would handle a murder scandal unfolding in her own house.
