'Outlander' season 4 premiere changed this detail from the book and here is why

Ronald D. Moore, the show's executive producer, talked about the change during an appearance at the Savannah College of Art and Design Film Festival.

Season 4 of 'Outlander' premiered on November 4 and fans of Diana Gabaldon's best-selling series were quick to notice a minor detail that had been changed in the show.

In the last few seconds of the opening scene, Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers) took Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) cherished possession, her wedding ring, from Jamie (Sam Heughan). In the books, Bonnet steals something from Claire, but not her wedding ring.

According to Celebrity insider, in the book 'Drums of Autumn', Bonnet steals a gold band from Claire's former husband, Fran Randall (Tobias Menzies), who was last seen in season 3. His appearance in season 3 was right before Claire went back in time to reunite with Jamie.
