Oscars 2020: Billy Porter confuses Billie Eilish's Chanel outfit for Gucci and fans are not letting it slip
Billy Porter mistook Billie Eilish's outfit for Gucci instead of Chanel on the Oscars 2020 red carpet and fans aren't letting it slip.
The red carpet is rolled out and fashion is flying as the stars make their way into the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night. However, before the award ceremony, Billy Porter caught up with Hollywood's biggest stars and Billie Eilish was one of them.
Porter was donning a stunning bodice constructed with 24 karat feathers, a ball gown skirt with tapestry print and gold platform boots giving everyone a massive phoenix inspiration.
As the stars made their way down the red carpet, Porter and Lily Aldridge looked back at some of the best outfits and that's when Porter mistook Eilish's Chanel outfit to be Gucci.
Talking about her outfit, Porter shared, "Oh Billie Eilish. You know I have to say that neon green hair has turned me into a neon fan, and I love her silhouette. I love what Gucci is doing with that oversized."
Fans were quick to notice Porter's slip up and took to Twitter to share their opinion. "Hey Billy Porter, Billie Eilish is wearing Chanel not Gucci #Oscars #OTRC You tell by the big C logo printed everywhere," a fan wrote.
"Did Billy Porter really just say Billie Eilish was in Gucci? #BillieEilish #Chanel #Oscars," a fan said. Another said, "billy porter thought billie eilish was wearing gucci when the whole f**king chanel logos are on her jacket #Oscars."
"Omg Billy Porter Billie is wearing #Chanel not @gucci #Oscars," a fan said. Eilish who bagged all four top awards during the 2020 Grammy Awards, was donning Chanel head to toe. She wore an all-white Chanel suit and accessorized it with Chanel hairpins and Chanel lace gloves.
