It is finally the biggest night in the world of cinema — The Oscars, where it's not just feature films that receive the recognition, but smaller versions of it known as live shorts are given their due share too.

Sadly, once again, the academy has been just as stringent in nominating foreign films in the Live Action Short category as it has been in its full-length feature one, entitled Best Picture.

The year 2019 saw excellence in the field of telling deep tales in lesser time, through the 92nd Academy Award nominations for Best Short Film (Live Action), which were: Meryam Joobeur's 'Brotherhood', Yves Piat's 'Nefta Football Club', Marshall Curry's 'The Neighbor’s Window', Bryan Buckley's 'Saria' and Delphine Girard’s 'A Sister'.

Taking the spotlight amid its equally acclaimed, the 2020 Oscar for Best Short Film (Live Action) went to 'The Neighbours Window'. The award was presented by Shia Lebouf and Zack Gottsegen.

Curry is a four-time Oscar-nominated American documentary director, producer, cinematographer and editor. 'The Neighbour's Window' follows "a middle-aged woman's life shaken up when two younger people move in across the street."

Airing live from the Dolby Theatre, the 2020 Oscars' Red Carpet began from 6.30 pm ET. The main event started at 8 pm ET.
