ONEUS 'Blood Moon': Release date, concert and all about oriental album

'ONEUS Theatre' is a project that includes a performance series, 2-day concert and the 'Blood Moon' album full of traditional sounds and elements

K-pop group ONEUS are going all out for their last comeback of 2021. Fans have been fed quite well as the boy group will have a total of three comebacks this year. They first released their first studio album ‘Devil’ in January followed by the ‘Black Mirror’ era in May. ‘Devil’ peaked at #2 on Gaon Album Chart while songs from the album entered Billboard. Even the pre-releases of their upcoming album ‘Blood Moon’ caused quite a stir as it entered the top 25 of Billboard and was introduced in the most novel way.

Known for their cinematic performances, ONEUS decided to introduce a musical project titled ‘ONEUS THEATRE’. It includes the album ‘Blood Moon’, the 2-day ‘Blood Moon’ concert and performances that incorporate storylines from popular films like ‘Mad Max’ and ‘Dead Poets Society’. The songs covered are all pre-releases of the ‘Blood Moon’ album. The upcoming album continues the oriental concept of their 2019 release ‘Lit’ and makes use of traditional sounds, outfits and locations. Release date

ONEUS’ ‘Blood Moon’ album will be released on November 9 at 6 pm KST (5 am ET).

Where to listen

The album will be available on all major music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn and more.

Schedule

The ‘Blood Moon’ concert is a 2-day hybrid event that will be offline, as well as online.

November 6 - Offline concert at 7 pm KST (6 am ET).

November 7 - Online concert at 4 pm KST (3 am ET).

November 12 - KBS Music Bank at 5 pm KST (4 am ET).

Venue

The concert on November 6 is an offline concert with a live audience held at the Blue Square Master Card Hall, Seoul. The concert on November 7 is an online concert live-streamed on Interpark’s platform.

ONEUS released a highlight medley that gave us a sneak-peek of the songs. The title track ‘Luna’ is an oriental fusion as it makes use of traditional instruments in the arrangement. Member Hwanwoong has also participated in the making of the performance. Leedo has participated in writing the lyrics for six of the songs except ‘Who You Are’. Ravn has participated in the making of ‘Yes Or No’ and ‘Shut Up and Crazy Hot’ and has written the lyrics for them including ‘Luna’, ‘Life is Beautiful’ and ‘We’re in Love’. Seoho and Leedo have also co-composed and written ‘We’re in Love’.

Concept

ONEUS have released four sets of concept photos. In two of them, they look dashing as they don sleek suits and look quite dapper. As for the other two concept photos, they bring back their strengths of combining oriental elements as they sport magnificent hanboks against the backdrop of a traditional Korean house.

Music video teasers

With their ‘ONEUS Theatre’ project they spoiled ‘Shut Up and Crazy Hot’ and ‘Life is Beautiful’ with performance videos. They also dropped a strong performance video for ‘Intro: Window’ along with Choi Ye-rim which is a fusion of trap-hip hop and traditional Korean music. ONEUS also released two enigmatic music video teasers for the album's title track ‘Luna’.
