Hulu has a knack for creating engaging content for its viewers and it is in no mood to stop. The network is coming out with a blockbuster series ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ starring Hollywood biggies like Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, and Michael Shannon.

Based on The New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, the series revolves around nine people who are feeling stressed due to their hectic schedules and try to get on a path to a better way of living. However, they don’t know their lives are going to get upside down during their stay at the wellness resort.

The upcoming series has an interesting premise and boasts a stellar cast. Hulu’s recent shows like ‘Reservation Dogs’ and more have been really successful in creating a positive atmosphere about the streaming service and the management will be hoping for ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ to exceed all expectations as well.

Release date and how to watch

The upcoming series will be premiering exclusively on Hulu on Wednesday, August 18 and the season premiere will see three episodes airing on the aforementioned date. After the premiere, the episodes will drop every week at 12 am EST. Viewers can download the Hulu app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Meanwhile, it is also available on devices such as Android TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Echo Show, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Fire TV Stick.

Plot

“Based on The New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, “Nine Perfect Strangers” takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.”

Cast

The series features some of the finest actors working in Hollywood right now. Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman plays the role of Masha Dmitrichenko on the show while Melissa McCarthy portrays Frances Welty. Oscar nominee Michael Shannon will be playing the character of Napoleon Marconi and Luke Evans is Lars Lee.



 

Other actors to make an appearance on the series include Samara Weaving (Jessica Chandler), Asher Keddie (Heather Marconi), Melvin Gregg (Ben Chandler), Tiffany Boone (Delilah), Grace Van Patten (Zoe Marconi), Manny Jacinto (Yao), Zoe Terakes (Glory), Regina Hall (Carmel Schneider) and Bobby Cannavale (Tony Hogburn).

Creators

The show is based on a novel of the same name written by renowned author Liane Moriarty. It is developed for TV by David E. Kelley and John-Henry Butterworth. Meanwhile, the series is directed by Jonathan Levine, who is known for making projects such as ‘50/50’ and ‘Warm Bodies’.

Apart from Kidman, Moriarty, McCarthy, Moriarty, Kelley, and Butterworth, people like Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Huntensky, and Jodi Matterson also serve as executive producers on the show.
