Why Danny Godoy chose James Ford?
Godoy and Ford teamed up to wow Balmain's Olivier Rousting with coordinated looks. Godoy used his advantage which he got by winning the episode 3 challenge. While picking up the teammate, Godoy shared his strategy, saying, "My strategy behind picking my teammate is definitely going with someone who does menswear because I don't do menswear. but still has, like, that fun aspect to it." However, Godoy gushes about Ford, sharing that he has "definitely evolved through the competition, and I think, together, we can create magic on the runway." He further insisted that "We clearly have two very distinctive looks that I feel could mesh together."
James Ford's less effort made Danny Godoy to lose
No one knew that the very distinctive looks for which Godoy was thrilled, will eliminate him from the competition. Gigi and Tan's hope for Godoy and Ford were very high. But they do know there will be a difference as Godoy's women's wear is dramatic and James is incredibly playful. The host duo was expecting that Godoy and Ford's creativity will combine and could come up with something commercially viable. Tan noted that "James works very last minute. Godoy knows what he wants from the offset." However, in episode 5, it was proved that Tan was right. Godoy and Ford's different approaches made them say goodbye to 'Next in Fashion.' Though it was teamwork that Godoy was doing from designing to sewing.
