Spoilers for 'Next' Season 1 Episode 2 'File #2'

The once-groundbreaking AI that Paul LeBlanc (John Slattery) had created is now threatening to wreak havoc on the world and bring it to a standstill. That hostile takeover of human life by robots or artificial intelligence in the case of this series doesn't seem all that impossible. And Fox's latest science-fiction thriller 'Next' is here to present a warning of what is to happen when an exponentially self-improving, self-learning intelligent AI gets access to the Internet.

With only two episodes from its Season 1 run, 'Next' continues to keep its audience glued to the screens. In the latest episode, both Paul and special agent Shea Salazar (Fernanda Andrade) race against hope and time to save her son Ethan (Evan Whitten) from making the wrong decision. And then using him as a bait to get closer to know Iliza's (Olenka Wos Kimball) IP address.

Following a fair bit of challenges, the duo is eventually successful in doing so. And the episode has left its audience wanting more. "Over already? Great show! I even forgot about COVID & the election for a little while #NEXTonFOX" tweeted a fan. "This show has me hooked. Cannot wait for Episode 3!" concurred another fan.

With both Paul and Shea one step closer to the rogue AI, the episode opens up to the immense possibilities that the story could present going forward - mostly focusing on the several challenges that are to come the duo's way. "@NEXTonFOX great second episode you guys really know how to build suspense!!! #nextonfox," tweeted a fan.

It doesn't help viewers that the episode ended on a cliffhanger, leaving them with the last visual of zoom in on a restless eye. Add to the promo for the upcoming episode that teases of a shocking installment. "End the episode on an eye going back and forth. I really needed that.... but YOOOOOO that promo tho?? It really put out an Amber Alert on Ethan. THAT'S HELLA CRAZY!!! Fast forward to the 27th now please!!! #NEXTonFOX" tweeted a fan.

The promo also teases that something awful is going to come Ethan's way. "The next ep’s preview WHAT i have chills #NEXTOnFOX", added another viewer. And as more questions arise than answers, viewers are eagerly waiting for Episode 3, but it is a long wait for that one. "TWO WEEKS I CANT WAIT TWO WEEKS #NEXTOnFOX."

'Next' airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET/PT.
