'New Amsterdam' Season 2 Episode 7: Will Helen help Max before its too late, especially with another threat coming to the hospital?

Despite rationally knowing that Georgia (Lisa O'Hare) is no more, he seems to think that she is around, and talks to her, signs with her, and even pretends that baby Luna can see her

Helen (Freema Agyeman) trying to find ways to help Max (Ryan Eggold) was definitely one of the highlights of the previously aired Season 2 Episode 6 of 'New Amsterdam'.

Since his wife's death, Max has been evidently struggling and his friend (potentially future girlfriend) just wants to help him, with everything that is going on. He went from being a happily married expectant father to a grieving widower and a singer father in a short span, but he is refusing to take anyone's help.

Towards the end of the previous episode, we saw that after Max accepted her help and asked her to "surprise him", Helen sent a cleaning crew to the New Amsterdam medical director's house, only for him to immediately freak out and send them on their way.

A while later, we see that he is yet to clean his late wife's blood from the carpet in the house, and is still living in her memories.

Despite rationally knowing that Georgia (Lisa O'Hare) is no more, he seems to think that she is around, and talks to her, signs with her, and even pretends that baby Luna can see her.

So far, he has managed to keep this a secret, but in the previous episode, he let it slip in front of Helen that he wants to show Georgia, Luna's laughter. Although Helen was taken aback by this comment, Max convinced her that he is talking about one of his late wife's photos.

However, this quick dismissal of her help despite apologizing for "being a jerk" and accepting that he needs to take help when offered, is going to raise a red flag with Helen.

Hopefully, she will be able to find out what exactly is going on with him and help him out before it is too late. Meanwhile, they have another major issue to deal with at the hospital, when the show returns with Season 2 Episode 7 on Tuesday, November 5.

A returning patient is seemingly in great physical pain because of the neglect of one of the doctors at New Amsterdam, and we will see Max and Helen trying to deal with that without destroying the reputation of the hospital.

How will they tackle Max's own problems and this at the same time? Watch 'Good Soldiers' to find out.
