Netflix is slowly and steadily trying to foray into reality TV as well and continuously updating its catalog with interesting reality TV shows. Television is filled with a lot of reality shows and if you need your show to connect with viewers, then you need to have something unique in your content.

Shows like ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’, ‘The Bachelorette’ and ‘Survivor’ have been some of the biggest reality TV shows over years. However, they seem to have lost steam because of their content. So, Netflix has decided to create some unique content in the Reality TV space and announced a new reality show titled ‘The Future Diary’.

The Japanese reality show will see two strangers living a romantic life by following a rough script in a diary that is handed out to them. However, they will have to face different semi-fictional situations together and see how they influence each other. Will this scripted adventure lead to real-life romance?

The answer to that question will be given in the Netflix reality show.

When does ‘The Future Diary’ release and where can you watch it

The upcoming reality TV show will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on Tuesday, December 14. The first three episodes will be released on Tuesday and then, each week viewers will get to see one episode every week.

What is ‘The Future Diary’ all about

The official synopsis reads, “Two people who have never met before are cast to live out a romantic storyline by following a rough “script" in the diary that is handed to them containing only a rough outline of a story. Their semi-fictional exchange, based on the casts' own words, takes them through an experience that could ultimately influence how they view one another. Viewers will be left asking themselves whether the casts' scripted adventures will lead to real romance. A reboot of a top reality series that made waves from 1998 to 2002.”

Who stars in the Netflix reality series?

The names of the contestants haven’t been revealed and it’ll be interesting to see how people with different personalities come together to lead a romantic life with semi-fictional stories. These situations might make them fall for each other.



 

Showrunners

The upcoming reality show is being directed by Kotaro Uni and is a reboot of the series that made a lot of headlines from 1998 to 2002. On the other hand, Shinichi Takahashi, Machi Fujiwara, Takeshi Takaoka serve as executive producers on the show.

Takahide Yamaji and Hiroyuki Takahashi are also producers on the show.
