Netflix's popular period-drama 'The Crown' is all set to release season 3 in 2019. They are yet to announce an official release date but are already busy working on season 4. The makers have found their Diana Spencer, the late princess, in newcomer Emma Corrin. Corrin will play the role of young Lady Diana who will become the Princess of Wales in the future. The third season of the show will introduce an all-new cast and one of the reasons the release date of the next season is yet to be announced is because of a cast rehaul.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, creator of the show Peter Morgan said: "Emma is a brilliant talent who immediately captivated us when she came in for the part of Diana Spencer. As well as having the innocence and beauty of a young Diana, she also has, in abundance, the range and complexity to portray an extraordinary woman who went from anonymous teenager to becoming the most iconic woman of her generation". 'The Crown' will not mark the debut of Corrin however, as she is set to make her debut on the silver screen with the film 'Misbehaviour'. The period film follows the journey of a group of women who belong to the Women's Liberation Movement who seek disruption of the 1970 Miss World beauty competition that took place in London. Her television debut will be made in 'Pennyworth' Epix's drama based on Batman's butler Alfred Pennyworth's life.

Speaking about being selected to play young Lady Diana, Corrin said, "Beyond excited and honored to be joining 'The Crown' for its fourth season. I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice!"

Season 3, slated to release later in 2019, will see Olivia Colman take over Claire Foy's role as Queen Elizabeth. Helena Bonham Carter replaces Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, while Tobias Menzies will play Prince Phillip previously portrayed by Matt Smith. Margaret Thatcher and Camilla Parker Bowles will respectively be played by Gillian Anderson and Emerald Fennell in seasons three and four.
