'Elite' season 2: Release, cast, plot, teaser and all you need to know about the Spanish teen drama

Season one ended with the death of Marina, who played a lead role in the series. Season two will focus on fighting the case to identify the true murderer behind her death putting loyalty, friendship, love, and family to the test.

The Spanish teen drama ' Elite' had a very good beginning with season one and is quite popular with the Netflix audience. This Netflix original that aired on October 2018, has been renewed for season 2. Season one ended with the death of Marina, who played a lead role in the series. Season two will focus on fighting the case to identify the true murderer behind her death putting loyalty, friendship, love, and family to the test.

 

Release date

Season two will be coming out on Netflix on Friday, September 6. The official release was announced with a release of a teaser featuring all the lead actors. 

Plot  

The season 2 plot will focus on the investigation into Marina's death that happened at the school premises. Samuel's brother Nano has been falsely accused of the murder and has been arrested for it. Samuel will be playing a crucial role in this season as he will find himself trapped in a circle of disappointment, shock, betrayal, love, and loyalty once he discovers that his brother and Marina ( the love of his life) were dating behind his back. The season will also reveal to Samuel that Marina and Nano planned on running away to set up a life in Mexico. Nano will also be struck by grief as Marina's death was a shock to him as well, while at the same time he was accused of killing her. The journey of love, hate, betrayal, and unity will play out in season 2. 

Cast 

Itzan Escamilla

He plays the role of Samuel García Domínguez in the Netflix Spanish series 'Elite'. His role in this series is of a boy who believes in all the good things in life. He is friendly, humble, focussed and a decent boy who falls in love with a girl. 

Miguel Bernardeau

Miguel plays Guzmán who is the typical elite popular boy in school and has girls drooling over him. He also plays the role of Marina's ( María Pedraza) brother. 

Jaime Lorente

He is best known for playing the role of Ricardo Denver in the Netflix series known as 'Money Heist' or in Spanish 'La Casa de Papel'. He plays the role of Nano  García Domínguez in the series 'Elite' like a bad boy figure who is always getting into trouble and does everything as he pleases. He is Samuel's older brother who falls in love with Marina and they have a relationship making his character a very important one for the plot of the series. 

Miguel Herrán

Miguel is also part of the 'Money Heist cast where he played the role of  Aníbal Río Cortés and he plays a very crucial flirty playboy role in Elite as Christian Varela Expósito. His character is of a flamboyant boy who is least bothered about being judged, he is best buddies with Nano and indulges in a polyamorous relationship with the girl he likes and her boyfriend. 

Álvaro Rico and Ester Expósito

Polo and Carla respectively are two of the other lead roles who play a big part in the series 'Elite' as boyfriend and girlfriend, they begin to have a threesome relationship with Christian. This relationship gives intensity and passion to the plot of the series and a very open-minded outlook. Polo is the reason behind Marina's death, and because of his timid nature, Carla and Christian help him in keeping that truth buried.

Director 

Ramón Salazar

He is a  Spanish film director and screenwriter. In the year 2003, he was nominated for the Goya Awards for Best New Director for the film 'Stones'. He has tried to bring a very realistic approach to the lives of teens in the series 'Elite' by showing it like it is. Teen lives are filled with recurring changes that eventually affect and influence their decisions in life. The series 'Elite' has already set a very high benchmark when it comes to direction.
