Netflix's 'Dive Club' Ending Explained: Lauren's found, but show's not over yet

Twelve episodes and multiple yawns later, there's more 'Dive Club' has to offer, unfortunately. Netflix's teen drama focuses on a group of skilled teens divers who have a penchant to unearth something spectacular the sea has to offer. They have their adventures and everything is fine until one of them goes missing on a stormy evening at Cape Mercy.
The search begins and that's when the bunch realizes there's a sinister secret that lurks on the cape and their friend's mysterious disappearance had a lot more at play. Before we get cracking on the ending, we suggest you take a look at these much better shows on Netflix: 'Money Heist', 'Sex Education', 'Riverdale' and 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'.

'Dive Club': Ending Explained
It takes almost eleven episodes to know that Lauren (Georgia-May Davis) is alive and kicking and is locked up in an abandoned house. The kidnapper is still a mystery and it is revealed that Cape Mercy was actually destined to be a major tourist hotspot as it has one of history's most groundbreaking secrets. It would be home to the jewels of famed Russian princess Anastasia. The cape already had enough buzz thanks to a Russian wreck, but this would change Cape Mercy's image forever.
This was the secret Lauren uncovered when she went missing and sadly for her, quite a few on the Cape are aware of the news of Anastasia's jewels being hidden somewhere on the cape. Lauren's cryptic clue in the form of a video she leaves for her friends - Anna (Aubri Ibrag), Stevie (Sana'a Shaik), Maddie (Miah Madden), and Izzie (Mercy Cornwall) leads them on a journey where they find a few of the jewels before finally putting the pieces together and finding the kidnapped teen.
Lauren, with the rest of the gang, dig a bit deeper only to find that Anna is a descendant of one of the pirates who imprisoned Anastasia when she set out of Russia by sea. The jewels are taken from her and she laments in her last hours that she couldn't hold on to the family's prized possessions. When Anna realizes the bitter secret, she runs away in shame with the rest in hot pursuit.
In what comes as a twisted turn of events, her grandmother who resides on the cape is the criminal mastermind searching for the jewels as well. She finds Anna in tears and pulls her aboard her yacht, marooning the rest of the teens where their pleas for help go unheard as the credits begin to roll.
The cliffhanger obviously suggests there is a season 2 in the works and that would help know the fate of the teen and Anna's grandmother's grand scheme.
