NCT's Jaehyun will reportedly make his acting debut in the web drama 'Love Playlist' which just finished airing its fourth season in 2019. The drama centers around various romantic storylines set on a university campus and gives viewers glimpses into the ups and downs of youngsters navigating a formative period of their early adult life. Jaehyun will have the opportunity to display his acting chops as the lead in the upcoming fifth season, set to air in 2021. The series is already immensely popular, having accumulated over 400M views by the time season four rolled around, and the addition of Jaehyun to its lineup is sure to draw an even larger crowd.

Jaehyun is a singer/songwriter, rapper and now actor, who debuted with NCT's sub-unit 'U' in 2016, with the single 'The 7th Sense'. He is also a part of fellow sub-unit NCT 127 and contributes as a vocalist and rapper across all the projects he is involved with. Aside from his musical contributions, the 23-year-old has also been named as a 'visual' in the group, so it should come as no surprise that the artiste is also suited for acting roles. And while his role on 'Love Playlist' maybe his debut as an actor, his fans are already certain he will ace the role. One fan said, "Love Playlist has a good plot and it's a really good series. Jaehyun will shine here." Fans of the show were equally excited to hear about the idol joining the cast, with one sharing, "Love Playlist is literally one of my favorite webdrama OMG actor Jaehyun let's go!"

Fans are congratulating the idol on the opportunity, with some stating, "Aaa congrats for your debut actor Jaehyun, can't wait," and other evidently emotional fans adding, "Really??? Really??? The fu...man I'm crying so hard," as well as, "I JUST SHARED IT I AM SCREAMING."

Many also commended the actor for his achievements, sharing how proud they were of him, stating, "Jaehyun will finally debut on his first acting gig ever & it's not only some drama but a drama that has a huge fanbase & is set to be broadcasted by Korea's biggest broadcasting network." The fan added, "People are gonna see him act all over South Korea. Proud is such an understatement."

Others couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of seeing "Jaehyun as a college student". For idols, despite many of them being so young, regular campus life isn't always the norm and many go to specialized classes that allow them to balance their school or university life with their schedules. While this may not be an actual college experience, it certainly lets fans imagine Jaehyun as a university-going student.

Some fans, despite being excited about Jaehyun's latest gig, are worried for one important reason: they don't know if their "heart can handle Jaehyun kiss scenes". One fan shared, "I can't watch it, if there's a kiss scene, my heartbreak."

Others couldn't help but poke a little fun at Jaehyun's previous "acting" videos, namely one of his more popular ones featuring fellow NCT member, Johnny, which one fan stating, "Of course it is a must to bring this jewel back," adding that it "paved the way to Jaehyun actor debut."

As fans continued to share their reactions to the news, it dawned on a few fans that they'd have to wait a long time to watch the show. One tweet read, "I love the Love Playlist series, I can't wait to watch this by ugh I have to wait for 2021."

Others, however, are already looking ahead, predicting Jaehyun will have a spot at the award shows that follow his big debut. One fan shared images of the idol in a perfectly tailored suit, stating, "Imagine actor Jaehyun attending Blue Dragon Award looking like this."

It appears that despite the long wait, Jaehyun's fans are already as hyped up about his role as they can be which should make for quite a successful run for 'Love Playlist' when it airs next year.
