'NCIS' Season 18 Episode 7 'The First Day' Spoilers: Is Jimmy Palmer's wife Breena dead?
After a week's break, 'NCIS' is back on our screens and it might have a shocker up its sleeves. But even before we get to that, we also have to face being back in the COVID-19 timeline on the show, aka the present day.
'NCIS' has done a good job dodging the pandemic in its plots by rewinding back in time. But the showrunners couldn't have avoided it entirely on the show. So here we are in Episode 7 with most of the actors in masks with just their eyes showing, especially when they are in medical facilities to pursue leads. And this makes for some awkward scenes like the one below.
RELATED STORIES
According to the official synopsis for the episode, "NCIS investigates the murder of a Navy officer who was killed while driving home a recently released inmate". And this is what the sneak peek clip explores with Torres and Bishop teaming up to find out more about the Navy officer and the inmate he was giving a ride to when he was killed.
In other news, Episode 7 will probably have Vance stumble on to something that has been bothering Jack Sloane. This is obviously linked to how the actress who plays Sloane, Maria Bello, will exit the show. But the spoiler clip shared does not give any indication of what is troubling her. In fact, when Vance asks Sloane if she is ok, she says "I'm good" when she is obviously not.
And last, but not least is the biggest episode spoiler of all! Jimmy Palmer's wife Breena Palmer might be dead. The actress who has played Breena in the past, Michelle Pierce, has quit acting. So this might be a way to end her character arc off-screen. The synopsis certainly supports this saying "Gibbs helps Palmer deal with a personal trauma".
But there is a possibility that Breena isn't dead but is leaving or left Palmer. Be it divorce or death, one thing is certain. Palmer has "lost" Breena in some way. Kasie Hines, the forensic scientist says as much, to Gibbs saying that Palmer is being hyper cheerful and weird and not dealing with "losing Breena". Gibbs advises her to give him some space.
This means that Sloane is joined by Palmer among the troubled souls of 'NCIS' tonight -- hopefully, the face masks are not going to become a distraction in what is obviously a packed and emotional episode with plotlines involving two key figures of the 'NCIS' team. Guess we'll find out when we tune in tonight.
The upcoming Episode 7 will air on February 9 at 8 pm only on CBS.
