'NCIS' Season 17 winter premiere: Will Gibbs' search for Phineas stall Ziva-Tony reunion?
'NCIS' is all geared up to return with its winter slash mid-season premiere. While we are more than thrilled to see Ziva pop-up again, the news is not all that great. This is probably the last time we get to see 'Ziva' this season, as actor Cote de Pablo is not listed for further episodes in Season 17.
With Ziva running on a tight deadline, and Gibbs desperately looking for his next-door neighbor's kid who disappeared after he killed his mother - are we finally in to expect the Tiva reunion this time or will she focus on helping Gibbs and Gibbs' mission alone?
The question arises specifically due to the promotional trailer for the mid-season premiere aka Episode 11 titled 'In the Wind'. The trailer reveals Ziva calling Gibbs to find out about the aftermath of the shooting and realized immediately that things are going nowhere close to good. Nevertheless, the trailer features Gibbs insisting that Ziva should head to Paris to reunite with Tony and their child Talia after not having seen them for years.
But given Ziva as her own person, she counters Gibbs', who is seen imploring her, profusely to go to Paris later than scheduled and the trailer ends with Gibbs hanging up on a phone call before Ziva can respond. This has also raised concerns and speculations surrounding what the character (Ziva) was trying to say. Hopefully, it shall not be a matter of life or death, as Ziva would have definitely run over to inform Gibbs about the same. However, the fact remains that Ziva will run over to help Gibbs by hook or by crook and there shall be no force stopping her from doing so. Here's hoping it's just another help she is offering Gibbs as a long-time friend and colleague and not another crisis related secret that will require her to go undercover - thereby ruining any chance of her seeing Tony or Talia in the near future.
