'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 12 Episode 12: Will Callen still propose to Anna? Fans say 'he deserves better'
After weeks of speculation and worry, the truth behind Anna Kolchev's (Bar Rafaeli) mysterious disappearance is finally out. The answers came in 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 12's Episode 12 'Can't Get My Eyes Off Of You', the title of a famous song that played on the show during a dock shootout right in the final moments of the show.
But before all of that went down, yes, Grisha Callen (Chris O'Donnell) was finally able to reunite with the love of his life who everybody feared had been kidnapped. But no, Anna was working for the Russians undercover and ended up getting betrayed by those of her own. Still, the many lies and in the shadow-working she has been a part of have fans claiming 'Callen deserves better'.

The episode saw Callen on a stakeout to finally find Anna's hiding spot after being tailed by some Russians. When he walks into the cabin where Anna is stationed with a few of her former colleagues, he is absolutely miffed to find out she was safe all this time, just lying and hiding from him. Anna says she can explain and Callen lets her, thus revealing what she's been up to.
A former enemy named Katya is back on the prowl and the Russians want Anna's help to lure her into captivity because she is also enjoying CIA immunity. Anna has had to keep her father Arkady and Callen completely cut off from the mess for their safety. She claims one of the guys she's working with is worth trusting because they have 'history', but funnily enough, he's the one who knocks Callen out and betrays Anna when they go on a stakeout to capture Katya.
Turns out the Russians don't want Katya anymore and have other plans with a CIA operative whom they have captured. So Katya teams up with said ex of Anna to capture her for her own creepy obsession for the badass blonde bombshell. Of course, Callen, Sam, Deeks, and even Kensi show up right in time for a shootout to save Anna from the Russians and Katya, but when she approaches her boyfriend to 'talk things out', he becomes dismissive. Callen wants to focus on the case and even though he saves Anna from the CIA's turf of interrogation, looks like his sentiments are more or less similar to fans. Especially with the episode ending on the note of 'to be continued', the tale of Callen and Anna's issues are sure to continue when NCIS: LA returns in a month with Episode 13.
This isn't the first time Anna has lied and worked under the radar of the man who was ready to propose to her, and fans think this definitely won't be the last time either. Taking to Twitter, a viewer wrote: "I'm starting to get over all of Anna's lies Callen deserves better. And I'm sorry, you are used to not being around your father, Callen is having to stay away from his young nephew!" They also added: "Every time Callen gets some form of stability with Anna she pulls all the secret crap." And this pattern is far too prominent by now to not be pointed out.

Sure Callen thinks he can deal with Anna now, but he has already withdrawn from proposing once after Arkady had told him honestly what he feels about people like them trying to build a family. And looks like proven wrong a second time might end up deterring him from proposing for good. At least until the end of Season 12? But then again, the show bosses had assured Callen will end up getting a lot more serious about his commitment to Anna than he has ever been; so maybe the finale will see them engaged after all.
