CBS' longtime procedural 'NCIS: Los Angeles' just debuted its 11th season and fans are all here for the big 'JAG' reunion between Navy Capt. Harmon "Harm" Rabb Jr and Marine Lt. Col. Sarah "Mac" Mackenzie. The former colleagues and ex-lovers reunited on the Monday night premiere after nine long years and awkward as it could have been, fans are blowing up social media gushing about how badly they wish the two gave their failed romance another try.

Their first face-off in almost a decade was as tense as it could be. Don't believe it? Well, just know that the rest of the team took it as a cue to leave the two alone in an empty parking lot, where first names were exchanged with an icy dagger that could cut through the tension. Luckily, Mac is the bigger person in this scenario as she pulls Harm in for a short-lived hug before they go their separate ways to accomplish the mission that has brought them together.

The mission is successful, and so is Harm and Mac's attempt at reducing the tension between them. Later at a team dinner the two are finally able to talk their hearts out in an attempt to figure out just what went wrong in their relationship. "We’re scared. It’s the only reason that makes sense. We never gave it a shot, a real try. Never put our all into it because we were scared to," Mac's explanation arrives, adding: "Don’t worry, I’m not standing here in front of you asking you to be with me. I just want us to acknowledge why we’re here tonight as colleagues and not husband and wife.”

Deep, crisp, yet so touching. Almost too heartbreaking for the fans because honestly they didn't deserve this. But what was even more heartbreaking was the open-ended conversation where the two left things. Pretty heavy for a season premiere but fans aren't complaining. Twitter user @jdbaloney expressed in a very heartfelt confession: "All I have to say is that I am ready for a reboot of JAG. Just give me a short, limited series that culminates with Harm and Mac finally being together and getting married. We fans deserve that resolution. And Mac was right. We are a long way from letting fate decide #NCISLA"

Begging for a more definitive ending for the two who have spent time wondering "what if?" for nine years now, @acstaton wrote: "please tell us that that whole San Diego easter egg tonight on #NCISLA is leaving the door open for more Harm/Mac because you guys didn't get the resolution those characters deserve. Harm and Mac deserve a definite ending not perpetual cliffhangers." User @jenna_haynam expressed the same, noting: "Watching tonight’s NCISLA episode makes me miss #JAG so much especially harm and macs relationship! The ending leaves us wondering again, we just want these two together please put them back together #bringharmandmacbacktogether."

'NCIS: Los Angeles' airs on Sundays at 9pm, only on CBS.
