The 'Chicago' franchise has gained a lot of recognition since it premiered in 2012 with 'Chicago Fire' as the first installment of the Dick Wolf creation. After that came 'Chicago PD' which aired in 2014. The franchise offers a glimpse into the professional and private lifestyles of firefighters, police officers, medical personnel and legal professionals who work hard to serve the people of Chicago.

'Chicago PD' follows uniformed patrol officers and the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District belonging to the Chicago Police Departement as they pursue culprits behind the city's major street crimes. The NBC franchise is now all set to release another season of the 'Chicago PD'. 

Release Date 

Season six on NBC was renewed on May 9, 2018, and premiered on September 26, 2018. NBC confirmed season seven on February 26, 2019. Now NBC has officially confirmed that 'Chicago PD' will premiere with season seven on September 25, 2019, at 10 pm.

Plot

'Chicago PD' has covered a range of events in the department as it tackles serious issues like drug trafficking, killings and other crimes all while the main characters cope with their personal lives. The new season takes fans deeper into the show's realistic portrayal of the critical lives of people in these occupations. The premiere episode is titled 'Doubt.'

Cast

Jason Beghe

He is a former Scientologist member and started his acting career with George A. Romero in 1988's film 'Monkey Shines: An Experiment In Fear' where he played a quadriplegic for which he received a lot of love and positivity. He acted as a police officer in the film 'Thelma and Louise' and also played various characters in other movies. He also worked alongside Demi Moore as her love interest in the movie 'G.I. Jane'. He has also starred in many television series. Currently, he plays Detective Sergeant Henry or Hank Voight in 'Chicago PD'.

Jon Seda

Jonathan Seda is best known for his role as Antonia Dawson in 'Chicago PD'. He is also known for playing Paul Falsone in the show 'Homicide: Life on the Street'. He was an amateur boxer who auditioned for the role of the 1922 film 'Gladiator' — a role he took up soon after.

Jesse Lee Soffer

He is well known for his role as Will Munson on the CBS soap opera 'As the World Turns' for which he received three Emmy nominations. The year 2014 marked his entry with the role of Detective Jay Halsteadon on 'Chicago Fire'. He has recurring roles in the police procedural 'Chicago P.D.' as part of the main cast. He has also acted in some movies in the genre of comedy such as Brady in the movie ' The Brady Bunch Movie' and its sequel 'A very Brady Sequel'. 

Tracy Spiridakos

She was a lead star in the Teletoon Children's comedy series 'Majority Rules' as Becky Richards between 2009 and 2010. She starred as Charlotte in 'Charlie Matheson' on the NBC post-apocalyptic science drama fiction series 'Revolution' between 2010 and 2014. In the year 2017, she became a part of the lead on 'Chicago PD'.

The man behind the ever famous 'Chicago' franchise is a television producer, Wolf is best known for being an executive producer for the franchise 'Law and Order' which since 1990 has included six police and courtroom dramas.
