The much anticipated final season of ‘Narcos: Mexico’ -- created by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Mirois -- is out on Netflix. This time around, things have taken a different turn on Season 3 of the true-crime show, as it portrays a vital moment in the drug war history in Mexico.

The plot of the series is mapped from the 1980s, and centers on the building and rise of the Guadalajara Cartel, with mafioso Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo being the leader. The series kickstarted in November 2018 and has been successful in producing two hit seasons. Actors Diego Luna and Michael Pena have been immensely lauded for their lead roles in the series.

'Narcos: Mexico' Season 3 Episode 5: El Chapo arrested as Mexico goes for drug cartels

The series starts off by introducing us to Kitty (played by Bad Bunny), who is being picked up in a convertible by a group of girls, as they drive him to see Romeo. While the girls stay in the car, Kitty walks to a store as Romeo approaches him, handing him a gun, and whispering in his ear. After this brief encounter, Romeo jumps back in the car, and we hear shots being fired. Kitty grabs the wheel and starts driving away.

Meanwhile, Walt visits Victor after he hears about the latter being involved in the robbery of one of the cartel’s stash houses. Victor, on the other hand, plays it cool while Walt highlights the intensity of one loss after another, and tells him that Amadi will do anything for a job well done.

Amado direly wants to create three cells, where people would work under him, not knowing they work for the same man, hence multiplying profits to the maximum. Amado then meets Pacho (played by Alberto Ammann), the head of the Cali cartel in Columbia, who tells him that Amado is out, and he desperately needs someone to move the Cali product, and that the Arellano family promised to buy more. Of course, Amado is not convinced.

El Chapo (played by Alejandro Edda), Juan, and Guero have a meeting with Benjamin to ask for permission to take over the Imperial Valley. The desert at the border can skyrocket their profit margins. Benjamin puts his foot down, saying he won't hand over the land for free or even sell it to them. Instead, he agrees to lease the land to them for 3 million bucks a year for the duration of two years. Hearing this, Hector is disappointed. Juan begins to calculate what problems may arise, while El Chapo is straight-up furious.

Soon enough, El Chapo lets his anger get the better of him, dressing up 10 of his own men in police uniforms. Benjamin, Ramon, and Edina’s husband get together at a club to celebrate the eldest Arellano male's birthday, Barron (played by Bobby Soto).

Barron immediately shoots two of the opposing party straight in the head, whilst running from the group to fight off intruders from behind. He helps all of the gang escape, save for Edina's husband, who doesn't make it out alive.

The family evacuates, but Edina seems to be in shock of her husband's death, as she holds on to his briefcase whilst seated in the SUV with her brothers. She turns to Benjamin when her eyes start to well up, saying, "I want their heads", with a very steady voice.

Season 3 of 'Narcos: Mexico' is available to stream on Netflix.
