The episode starts with the news of Cardinal Juan Posadas Ocampo getting killed in the cross-firing between the two cartels. As soon as the news gets out that the Archbishop of Guadalajara has been killed in the shooting, the church and the church’s followers get really upset and protests have started to happen in several states. The Mexican President is visiting the Guadalajara Cathedral for the first time after the 1800s and it has made everyone realize that things are starting to change in Mexico.
One of the senior priests tells the President that they are hoping to get justice and also threatens him to take this matter seriously or else he’s thinking of taking part in the coming elections. The police and the army have started taking matters into their hands and for the first time, Mexico has done the unthinkable: they are finally going out for drug cartels. During the press conference, they have shown the faces of people from the rival cartels, Tijuana and Sinaloa. However, they specifically showed the face of El Chapo on TV as they believed that he killed the Archbishop. In reality, it was the Tijuana members who really did it because they were told that El Chapo will be in a white car.
For the first time in history, a reward has been put on their heads and the people from cartels believe that the authorities have just announced a war between Tijuana and Sinaloa. To fix things up, Benjamin Arellano Felix (Alfonso Dosal) is trying to set up a meeting with some businessmen who could help them. However, when they reach the venue to meet them, the businessmen don’t arrive to meet them.
Elsewhere, Special Agent Walt Breslin has been sent back to Mexico as US and Mexico are working together to take these cartels down. Meanwhile, a young reporter feels that TAESA, an organization, and airline, has something to do with the killing because its flight was stopped for almost two hours and did not take off before having some people in.
The police were really close to catching Benjamin, but they couldn’t and now, things have gotten even more intense. Will Benjamin be able to lead The Anenallo Felix gang? The answer to that question will be given in future episodes.
The episode ended with El Chapo getting arrested on the Guatemalan border and things get really interesting as he was presented before media. Chapo was given 20 years of prison as Sinaloa was in shackles. The old days are gone and the party is officially over.
