This is why when it was reported that an idol who is a part of a boy group and who participated in the Mnet survival show 'Produce 101' was charged for assaulting his ex-girlfriend with a weapon, fans started pouring in questions about his identity. On August 19, 2022, it was reported that a 'Produce 101' trainee was held in court and punished for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and for threatening her with a knife.
It was also claimed that the singer was accused of strangling the woman. As soon as reports revealed that the idol was been indicted without detention and was given a two-year probationary sentence, fans demanded to know who the idol was. Reports from August 20 reveal that the idol is Nam Yoon-sung (Nam Yun-sung), a member of the 2018 boy group NOIR (Noir).

Who is Nam Yoon Sung?
Nam Yoon-sung, the idol who is charged for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, is a 1996-born member of the boy group Noir under the label LUK Factory. He appeared in the Season 2 of the Mnet survival show 'Produce 101' but left the show due to health concerns. Following his exit from the show, the trainee made his debut as an idol.
In April 2018, Yoon-sung made his official debut as a member of the nine-member boy group Noir which had been active from 2018 to 2020. Nam Yoon-sung was going to make his acting debut with the Korean BL (Boy Love) drama 'Oh! My Assistant' which was slated to release in the months to come opposite F.T. Island's Song Seung-hyun.
Nam Yoon-sung charged with two years of probation
According to reports from News Daily Korea, Nam Yoon-sung was legally punished for threatening and injuring his ex-girlfriend with a knife. The Noir member appeared at the 16th Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court and had been indicted without detention on charges of injury, special intimidation, and house trespassing.
The singer was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation. Since he did not show a past criminal record, Nam Yoon-sung would not be imprisoned but will be on probation for the next two years. The idol has also been ordered 80 hours of community service. Nam Yoon-sung was handed over to trial on charges of breaking and entering his ex-girlfriend's house who refused to meet him.
The incident took place in October of 2021 and it was reported that the Noir member kept had been harassing his ex for two weeks before the incident took place. Reports claimed that Nam Yoon-sung broke into the woman's house and threatened her with a knife asking her to get back together with him. When his ex refused his orders, he got outraged and tried to strangle her.
