TRIBECA, NEW YORK: Julia Haart and her Swiss-born beau Silvio Scaglia tied the knot in June 2019. In the first season of Netflix's 'My Unorthodox Life', we saw the couple's love flourishing. However, 'My Unorthodox Life' Season 2 will delve into how Haart and Scaglia's marriage fell apart. Keep reading to know why Haart divorced her husband.

In 'My Unorthodox Life' Season 2's trailer, we saw Haart and Scaglia mutually deciding that they want to move separate ways in life. Julia said, "We are amazing business partners. It (divorce) doesn't impact the business at all." Well, that proved wrong when the entrepreneur was fired from Elite World Group. This was the final straw that led to Haart pulling the plug on the marriage.

Page Six reports Haart claimed that she owned half of Freedom Holding Inc's Elite World Group. The firing from the company took place in February 2022. Soon after the news broke, Haart filed for divorce. Days later, Haart filed a petition for a restraining order against the technology entrepreneur. She claimed that she felt "terrible" with Scaglia. The reality star and businesswoman further called Scaglia a "liar and fraud" who owned millions of her shares in Freedom.

According to reports, Morgan T Zurn, vice chancellor of Delaware’s Chancery Court, noted that Scaglia retained control of EWG by agreeing to transfer 49.99% of shares. The court ruled that Haart "did not and does not" own 50% of Freedom's stock and had no power to stop being fired. In contrast, Haart claimed, "He wasn't allowed to fire me because we co-own the company together." She added that she was blindsided by Scaglia and did not know about owning less than 50% before January 2021. Once she knew, Haart agreed to forgo the employment contract. Her lawyers claimed, "Scaglia’s so-called wealth is nothing more than smoke and mirrors."

After the business battle, Haart struggled emotionally. The creative director at Italian luxury house La Perla claimed, "He (Scaglia) routinely berated me, calling me 'a venomous snake,’ a ‘monster’ and a ‘liar,’ in the presence of third parties and at times, my children." One of his favorite go-to phrases was "go f**k yourself," she alleged. She also opened up about Scaglia threatening her by saying, "If you ever go to the press about how I treat you or the kids, I will kill you." Haart claimed to have gone through severe emotional damage and verbal abuse.

Soon after Haart filed for divorce, she was accused of an "illegal withdrawal" from an EWG bank account, which allegedly led to her termination. US Magazine reports that Haart breached the January 19, 2022 agreement between her and Silvio Scaglia, which had a "$250,000 limit on withdrawals."

Netflix was dragged into the feud in 2022 after Scaglia's lawyer challenged the streaming platform's right to continue filming 'My Unorthodox Life'. However, the reality show was filmed nevertheless and their divorce featuring emotional and financial battles was documented.

'My Unorthodox Life' Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 2, 2022.
