Netflix is being much like the girls from 'Pretty Little Liars'. Wondering why we said that? Netflix is being too tight-lipped about their recent release of 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery' box office numbers. Sources apparently speculate that the 'James Bond' actor, Daniel Craig's recent movie earned as much as $15 million during its week-long run in roughly 600 theaters although this is just speculation. Before the $15 million box office speculation rose to surface Deadline reported that the film made an estimated $2 to $2.5 million on its first day, which led to estimates being raised to as much as $12.3 million after just four days.

The outlet also reported that the giant streaming service, Netflix agreed to take a lower amount of the rental revenue than usual from theaters (40 percent vs 60-70 percent), as well as to kick in four times the average amount of money for exhibitor marketing. Regardless, the mystery genre sequel Netflix movie received critical acclaim, with praise for its screenplay, direction, performances, and musical score.

The sequel to 2019’s 'Knives Out' brought in $13 million over the extended Thanksgiving holiday frame, translating to a robust $19,000 per theater average. More than $9 million of that figure came over during the weekend. It means 'Glass Onion' would have placed third on domestic box office charts, following 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' (which grossed $65 million from 4,258 cinemas over the five days) and Disney’s 'Strange World' (which grossed $18.5 million from 4,174 cinemas over the five days), had Netflix actually reported box office figures. Keeping in mind that those films were playing in six times as many theaters.

The sequel to the 2019 film 'Knives Out', with Daniel Craig reprising his role as master detective Benoit Blanc as he takes on a new case. The ensemble cast includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. Netflix apparently bought the rights to two 'Knives Out' sequels for $469 million.

The official synopsis of the film reads, "Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case." However, the streaming giant, Netflix will begin streaming the film on December 23, 2022.
