'My 600-lb Life': Carlton finally meets Monica, says she is the reason why he feels motivated to work hard
Carlton Oglesby has always felt restrained but was afraid to have the life he has always dreamed of because of his weight. Even though Carlton struggled because of his weight, he never thought that he would reach a point where he would need help from his brother, Cash Oglesby, to help him with even the smallest of things.
While everything in his life seemed to be headed in the wrong direction, Carlton felt a light shine through when he met Monica online. Monica and Carlton started talking online and instantly hit it off. Speaking to the camera, Carlton confessed that he wanted to have a normal life where he could have a social life and possibly, a proper relationship with Monica.
He felt that his weight stopped him from having a relationship and admitted that he wanted to be in a serious relationship with her. This led him to make the decision about meeting Dr Younan Nowzaradan and getting his life back on track.
Carlton and Monica met for the first time when she arrived at his home before they had to leave for Houston to meet Dr Nowzaradan. Carlton embraced Monica and the two immediately grew emotional at their meeting.
He admitted that he had been waiting for a long time for this moment and was happy to see it come to fruition. The two had been talking online but never had a chance to meet. At first, Carlton was worried that Monica would not like him because of his size. However, he was proved wrong when Monica started crying and admitted that she had been waiting to meet Carlton.
With Monica by his side, Carlton knew that he could make it through the process. Monica stated that she would be accompanying Carlton and wanted to be by his side. Hearing this, he felt happy and optimistic that he could change his life and take a healthier path to have a better life with Monica.
