LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the X-Men gear up for their return to the MCU alongside characters like Deadpool and Wolverine, fans are eagerly anticipating the revival of the iconic showdown between the X-Men and Magneto.

Known as one of the primary antagonists in Fox Studio's 'X-Men' franchise, Magneto was portrayed by Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender in the films.

However, fans could face a longer wait as the prominent antagonist might step aside to make room for another highly anticipated villain.

Marvel is considering Mister Sinister to oppose the X-Men in their reboot. If this plan comes to fruition, it would mark the villain's debut in live-action, following previous rumors of his potential appearance in Hugh Jackman's 'Logan'.

Marvel replaces Magneto with Mister Sinister as their next main X-Men antagonist

With the release of 'The Marvels', the presence of mutants in the MCU was officially confirmed, establishing Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan as a mutant.

The upcoming 'Deadpool and Wolverine' film will also introduce the X-Men into the MCU, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their roles from the Fox Studios franchise.

Although fans were eager for another showdown between the X-Men and Magneto, Marvel seems to have different plans. Marvel intends to introduce Mister Sinister as the main antagonist in the X-Men reboot instead of Magneto.

On March 18, Screentime took to their X page to tweet, "Mr. Sinister is reportedly going to be the main antagonist in the MCU 'X-MEN' reboot."

However, the character Mister Sinister exhibits notably darker inclinations towards the concept of mutation. This could mean that the MCU will be taking a more serious approach in the upcoming films.

Who is Mister Sinister?

In the 1980s, two formidable foes emerged to challenge the X-Men. One was the immortal mutant Apocalypse, while the other was the sinister geneticist known as Mister Sinister.

Mister Sinister, with his pale complexion, red eyes, and menacing appearance, officially debuted in 1987's 'Uncanny X-Men #221' during the key 'Fall of the Mutants' storyline. However, his nefarious influence was first felt behind the scenes a year earlier.

In 'Uncanny X-Men #211' from 1986, he was revealed as the mastermind behind the infamous Mutant Massacre, marking his initial major confrontation with the X-Men.

What are Mister Sinister's powers and abilities?

Altered at a cellular level by Apocalypse and granted access to Celestial technology, Mister Sinister gained enhanced durability and an extended lifespan.

Over time, he absorbed the powers of other mutants by sampling their genetic material. This process bestowed upon him abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, superhuman strength, energy projection, and molecular-level body control, granting him shapeshifting powers.

Additionally, he possesses rapid healing abilities. His innate scientific genius enables him to excel in cloning, a skill he has utilized for sinister purposes over the subsequent decades.

Fans are eager to witness Mister Sinister's wrath in 'X-Men' reboot

Fans are buzzing with excitement following the announcement that Mister Sinister will be the next major villain in 'X-Men '97'. They took to X on March 18, to express their views on the show's next big villain.

One fan said, "This is good news for the MCU and X-MEN fans. Mr. Sinister is a great villain and should get some screen time." While another added, "YES MY BOY!"

While the fans are speculating who will be cast for the role of Mister Sinister, one said, "I just hope they can get Brian Cranston, he was supposed to play (or at least being considered) Mr. Sinister but Fox X-Men franchise was canceled." "Enter Henry Cavill", commented an excited fan. Another wrote, "Hope they cast Keanu Reeves as Sinister"

Some fans praised Marvel for making these changes as one said, "Good he's actually a bad a** villain." "Finally, thank God. Literally 22 years of X-Men movies and not one of them having Mr.Sinister is criminal." wrote a long-awaited fan.

"Just imagine MCU having 2 big bads coexisting in the future, one for the X-Men and one for the Avengers, each franchise will have it's own conflict seperately but still being in the same universe" said a fan hoping to see what the future of the MCU holds. While another said "They’ve been teasing him for a goooooddd min in the Fox films so it’s only fair"

One fan shared his opinion saying, "This is a massive W. Not only is he a great character, his look could go crazy for live action!" "I see this as a dub man! Take a new approach well setting up other big bars on the side!" wrote another excited fan.
