LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Marvel Universe features a multitude of dastardly supervillains. Ordained by history, legacy, and power, some villains stand out among the rest because of their smart, egomaniacal, and ruthless nature.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has introduced several new villains over the years. Here are some of the greatest and worst villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Loki in ‘Thor’ (2011)

Loki is one of the dangerous villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Hiddleston played Loki in ‘Thor', a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

His tricks and schemes caused chaos throughout the realms. His jealousy of Thor, who is the crown prince of Asgard, leads to conflict between them.

Loki is willing to go to any extreme to achieve his mission.

Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018)

Thanos is an interesting and formidable villain in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers.

Thanos kills half the universe and stops at nothing to achieve his goals. He is portrayed as a ruthless and heartless being whose motivations and actions continue to captivate audiences.

Thanos believes that the population growth of Titan is unsustainable and seeks the Infinity Stones to eliminate half of the universe in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

Josh Brolin takes on the role of Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018) and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019).

Gravik in ‘Secret Invasion’ (2023)

Gravik was a supervillain in the 2023 American television series, ‘Secret Invasion’. It was created by Kyle Bradstreet based on the 2008 Marvel Comics storyline of the same name.

In ‘Secret Invasion’, Gravik, the leader of the Skrull resistance, is willing to eradicate humanity to establish Earth as the new home for the Skrulls.

Smart, strong, egomaniacal, and ruthless, he can go to any lengths to accomplish his mission.

Kingsley Ben-Adir played Gravik in ‘Secret Invasion’. He fights back against Fury and Talos after being patient for years.

Raava, disguised as Rhodey, in ‘Secret Invasion’ (2023)

‘Secret Invasion’ delivered another great villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Raava, who was disguised as Rhodey, collaborated with Gravik in their mission to conquer Earth. The War Machine armor gives him immense power. 

Nisha Aaliya and Don Cheadle played the role of Raava or Rhodey in ‘Secret Invasion’.

Green Goblin in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021)

Green Goblin in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, is an amazing villain.

After inhaling a performance-enhancing gas, Green Goblin transforms into a psychopathic supervillain. He is best known for his utilization of advanced technology and weapons, such as a flying glider and pumpkin bombs.

Willem Dafoe embodied Green Goblin in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. At the end of the movie, Spider-Man is prepared to kill the Green Goblin out of revenge.
