In the finale of 'X-Men,' titled 'Graduation Day', Professor Xavier faces a life-threatening situation when shot by a Mutant Control Agency member using an energy disruptor.

The device, interacting with Xavier's mind control abilities, induces a coma, culminating in a poignant final scene where he bids farewell to the X-Men.

Despite the apparent bleakness, the episode hints at Xavier's potential survival.

In an earlier sequence, Magneto attempts to combine his powers with Charles' to contact Lilandra of the Shi'Ar Empire, fostering the X-Men's belief in her ability to save Xavier.

As Xavier appears to be on the brink of death, Lilandra intervenes, transporting him to space for care using advanced Shi'Ar technology. While this means Xavier departs Earth, the implication is that he survives.

However, In the trailer for 'X-Men '97,' the scene depicting Xavier's farewell is showcased, but it cuts short before Lilandra's arrival.

A brief shot of a memorial for Xavier follows, suggesting his demise.

Additionally, emphasis is placed on Xavier leaving everything to Magneto in his will, hinting at his passing despite the earlier implication of Shi'Ar aid.

Is Professor Xavier really dead or will he appear again in 'X-Men '97'? Only time shall reveal.
