'Mouse' Episode 3: Is Lee Seung-gi's Ba-reum son of Headhunter? He will face the villain soon
'Mouse' episode 3 will see how the crimes of the past rule the present as a psychopathic serial killer learns that his son is alive. The show draws on how a psychopath feels close to no one except their offspring - a connection creepy enough to induce goosebumps. This bond of the serial killer with his son becomes central to the plot as it hints at the serial killer mentoring a protege to take the same path as him. In sync with this, we see a new case in the city that alludes to a serial killer on the move.
When you pit a snake against a mouse, the one that should die, according to the natural order, is the mouse. However, at the very beginning of the show, we saw a child throw a mouse into a snake's glass box at a snake park to check if it is true; but we see the mouse get violent and attack the snake with everything it has. Is this child a psychopath or is he a genius who is researching? Exploring the answer to this question makes for a huge part of the upcoming episodes. So far, he is the narrator of the show and he has confessed to being a predator.

Is he Jung Ba-reum (Lee Seung-gi) or would be it be the genius doctor Sung Yo-han (Kwon Hwa-woon). By the end of the episode, the doctor is revealed to be the son, but is he really Jae-woon who went to the extent of killing puppies and fish for revenge? He seems to have anti-social personality disorder from the way he treats patients but he is a brilliant doctor who makes it easy to say - like father like son. However, this seems too simple. So if you are wondering how Ba-reum is connected, he is probably the baby who the mother refused to abort after her husband's death because she believed that her son could do no harm.
The predator, in his narration, explains how his mother told him about a baby who also shared the psychopath gene and who is out there; the transition leading to Ba-reum seeing Yo-han eye to eye is why we are sure there is a twist here somewhere.
In the meantime, Ba-reum meets Go Mu-chi (Lee Hee-jun), the detective who is investigating the serial killer case in the present and also happens to be one of the victims who not only helped identity Headhunter but also attacked him on the day of his arrest. Ba-reum's friend was attacked by the same serial killer, however, he was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition while all others died.
The fact that this friend had just crossed the Headhunter at jail, and ended up being attacked also makes us wonder if the protege is already on the move and we cannot wait to see the case get solved by Mu-chi and Ba-reum.
'Mouse' will air on Wednesday and Thursday on tvN and can be streamed on Viki.
