'Most Wanted': Meet Josh Hartnett, Amanda Crew and rest of the cast of Daniel Roby's action crime thriller
July 2020 has seen some top-notch blockbuster films released on VoD. And there are new releases on the list as the coronavirus pandemic has ensured theatres across the globe remain shut. As far as the thriller genre goes, Josh Hartnett's 'Most Wanted' is all set to release on July 24. Known as 'Target Number One', it released in Canada earlier this month and the Daniel Roby ('Just A Breath Away') directed film opened to a positive response from critics.
'Most Wanted' is inspired by the true story of a Canadian drug addict, Alain Olivier, who put in eight years in a Thailand prison after being set up in an espionage plot. In addition to Hartnett, the movie also stars Antoine Olivier Pilon, Stephen McHattie and Amanda Crew in key roles. Here's a quick look at who's who:
Josh Hartnett as Victor Malarek
Hartnett plays Victor Malarek, an investigative journalist in the film. According to a Deadline report, he uncovers a massive entrapment case. In 1997, 'Cracker' got the audience buzzing when they saw Hartnett's Michael Fitzgerald being abducted by a serial killer and the actor.
A fresh and baby-faced Hartnett delivered a strong performance and followed it up with his first feature film that was an insane slasher, 'Halloween H20: 20 Years Later,' in 1998. What followed were appearances in major blockbusters. Hartnett had starring roles in the war epic 'Pearl Harbor', 'O', 'Black Hawk Down', the romantic comedy '40 Days and 40 Nights' and the crime thriller 'Lucky Number Slevin'.
Antoine Olivier Pilon as Daniel Léger
The Canadian actor plays Daniel, a man forced into a dangerous drug deal reluctantly and is sentenced to 100 years in a Thai prison. Malarek has to not just expose the conspiracy, but also rescue Daniel. Olivier is known for his lead role in 'Mommy', a Candian drama film. His other feature films include: 'Junior Majeur' and 'Before We Explode'
Amanda Crew as Anna Malarek
Crew plays Anna Malarek and while much about her role is kept secret, the actress, known for 'Final Destination 3' will most probably play a key role in the film. She is best known for playing Monica Hall on the HBO sitcom 'Silicon Valley' from 2014-19.
