'Most Dangerous Game': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Quibi's dystopian thriller
'The Hunt' was one of the most controversial films that released a couple of weeks ago. Now, 'Most Dangerous Game' may not be a controversial one, but it does pack in some intense action. The series borrows elements from Richard Connell's novella of the same name. The 1924-published book follows a big-game hunter from New York finding himself shipwrecked on a desolate Caribbean island. He finds himself hunted by a Russian aristocrat.
The modern adaptation though is a bit different and is part of Quibi's slate of releases when it launches on April 6. Here's what we know about the action-packed series ahead of its release.
Release
'Most Dangerous Game' releases April 6 on Quibi.
Plot
Liam Hemsworth plays Dodge Tynes, a man diagnosed with cancer. In a bid to provide for his pregnant wife when he's gone, he takes an offer from a mysterious businessman, Miles Seller (Christoph Waltz) to participate in a deadly game where he's hunted by unknown people. Survival means winning $24.5 million. Enough money for his wife to live a comfortable life.
The official synopsis reads, "Desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life, Dodge Tynes (Liam Hemsworth) accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he’s the prey. This dystopian action-thriller explores the limits of how far someone would go to fight for their life and their family. Let the games begin."
