NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A recent poll conducted by the Associated Press has revealed that nearly two-thirds of Americans have claimed that they wouldn’t vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential race, per AP News.

On August 17, Joe Scarborough spoke more about these poll numbers on ‘Morning Joe’ as he compared this political climate to the one where Richard Nixon was President.

Scarborough has taken this opportunity to announce different poll numbers, highlighting that only 15% of Americans believe that Donald Trump did nothing wrong.

After this particular segment, ‘Morning Joe’ and Scarborough faced backlash from the internet once again after a clip of this news segment was posted to ‘Morning Joe’s official Twitter account.

Joe Scarborough talks about Donald Trump’s poll numbers

Before discussing the poll numbers, Joe Scarborough said, “You know I have been very careful not to draw any conclusions on where Republicans are going to go. Um, just because it has been so impossible to figure that out over the last six or seven years.”

Scarborough then compared this situation to 1974, “This is feeling a lot like June of 1974, leading up to Nixon’s resignation in August. Trump will not back out.”

He then told the story of his father, who once supported Nixon until the very end, when Scarborough’s father one day finally said, “That guy is unworthy to be President.”

After this, Scarborough recited several poll numbers, declaring, “64% of Americans saying they are not going to support Trump. His approval rating is at 33%. 54% saying he threatened democracy.”

As the ‘Morning Joe’ host continued, the internet responded negatively to these poll numbers announced by Scarborough, after 'Morning Joe's tweet.

The tweet said, “The more people find out about these cases, the worse news it is for Donald Trump." — @JoeNBC points to new polling that shows little support for Trump’s claims he did nothing wrong."

Another troll wrote, “Heyy morning blow joe...i know u not the sharpest tool in the shed but i guess u deny reality now....trumps numbers have grown with EVERY INDICTMENT...so please keep indicting him you leftist hacks.”

Some have labeled this a “poll gag” as one tweeted, “Dream on, clowns. Nobody's falling for the poll gag,” while another person wrote, “You are fools.”

A few have posted some of their own polls where Donald Trump is winning as one person tweeted, “Really?” along with the link to an article titled ‘Biden and Trump is a dead heat in hypothetical 2024 rematch, poll says’.

Another person also tweeted, “Really?” with poll numbers of the Republican primaries which show Trump leading with 60%, followed by Vivek Ramaswamy at a mere 13%.
