'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough pleads Mika Brzezinski to 'stop' as she covers Iowa State Fair
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The Iowa State Fair landed Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump in several headlines together over the weekend.
On Monday, August 14, ‘Morning Joe’ addressed this Republican campaign clash, and Joe Scarborough was far from pleased about it.
There was visible distress in Scarborough’s voice as his co-host and wife, Mika Brzezinski narrated a few events that took place at the Iowa State Fair.
On August 14, Scarborough and Brzezinski were both present on ‘Morning Joe’ albeit in different locations.
As Brzezinski spoke about the fair, and everything that escalated, there came a point where Scarborough had to ask her to stop, before he took over the segment.
Joe Scarborough distressed over Iowa State Fair segment
Brzezinski began the news segment as she detailed the events that took place at the Iowa State Fair, “Several of the Republicans running for President made appearances at the Iowa State Fair over the weekend."
Further adding, "But Donald Trump’s brief visit to Des Moines seemed to grab the most attention. The former president was there for less than two hours.”
‘Morning Joe’ then played a clip of Trump in Des Moines, before Brzezinski moved on to talk about DeSantis and the “mixed welcome” he received at the state fair.
Brzezinski mentioned that DeSantis was trolled by Trump supporters throughout his time at the fair.
The third Republican is where Scarborough seemed to have drawn the line at ‘Morning Joe.’ Brzezinski said, “Another headline out of Iowa, the Iowa State fair this week, Vivek Ramaswamy, rapping to Eminem’s ‘lose yourself.’”
As Brzezinski continued talking about Ramaswamy rapping in Iowa, ‘Morning Joe’ played the clip of the same.
Brzezinski kept covering the headline, Ramaswamy’s clip of rapping continued playing, and Scarborough’s distressed voice was heard in the background as he repeatedly said, “Please stop.”
Mika Brzezinski playfully hits back at Joe Scarborough
When the clip finally stopped playing and ‘Morning Joe’ diverted back to Brzezinski and Scarborough, the latter said, “In the words of Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory…please…don’t…stop.”
As Scarborough finished quoting the popular movie, Brzezinski took a deep breath and said, “Please stop,” repeating her husband from only a few seconds earlier, who then laughed it off, before they moved on to discuss the Iowa State Fair.
