NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On September 7, the ‘Morning Joe’ panel discussed Senator Tommy Tuberville’s recent comments questioning the role of military leaders at the Pentagon. Tuberville said, “People up here in the Pentagon. I don’t know what they do every day, but they’re more of giving advice.”

In response, ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough has expressed his disappointment in Tuberville and also labeled him an “idiot.” In the segment, Scarborough left no stone unturned when it came to calling out Tuberville’s “ignorance.” In addition, ‘Morning Joe’ also welcomed Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Joe Scarborough explains why Tommy Tuberville’s comment is ‘personal’

“Shame on Tommy Tuberville, shame on Republicans for letting this happen, shame on Republicans for saying they wish that our troops were more like Russian troops,” said Joe Scarborough on ‘Morning Joe’ before highlighting that this is “personal.”

The reason it was “personal” was because Scarborough’s co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski’s brother served in the US Army. Scarborough then moved on to take a dig at Tuberville’s career as a football coach.

Scarborough said, “I’m not sure why you become a football coach,” as he explained that one becomes a member of the Marine Corps because they “love this country.”

Scarborough applauded those who serve the country, before circling back to Tuberville questioning the role of Pentagon leaders, “Who the hell is Tommy Tuberville to do this?”

Later in the segment, Joe Scarborough also said that Tuberville is the “perfect example” of the “rot in the Republican party.” Mika Brzezinski added that if there was anything “weakening the military,” it would be Tuberville.

In addition, ‘Morning Joe’ also added a quote from Scarborough on X, formerly known as Twitter, about Tuberville as they reposted the clip.

It read, “"What an idiot! You don’t know what our military leaders do in the Pentagon every day? The ignorance of this guy...It’s not that hard to figure out."— @JoeNBC calls out Tommy Tuberville for ‘disgusting’ comment on Pentagon leadership.”

On September 7, ‘Morning Joe’ also welcomed Senator Elizabeth Warren, who shed more light on Tommy Tuberville, as Mika Brzezinski reported on, “Senator Tuberville's prolonged blockage of over 301 military promotions.”
